With a chance to gain some ground in the playoff race the Bucs couldn’t deliver last week and now at 6-7 are on the outside looking in with a tentative hold on the #7 seed. Playoff hopes seem remote at this point but no doubt Tampa wants to bounce back from a bad performance last week at home against the Saints. The Bucs were outgained in that game but shut down the Saints on the ground – holding them to just 89 yards at 2.7 ypr. Their problem was that they couldn’t slow down Drew Brees and the Saints passing game and that has been their problem all year.
Fortunately for the Bucs this game sets up pretty well for them because the Rams don’t have a passing game at all – they average 173 passing yards at 5.5 yps against teams that allow 241 yards at 6.5 yps and so I don’t expect much production against a Bucs unit that is about average defending the pass. What Tampa does well, however, is stop the run – they allow just 95 yards per game at 3.6 ypr to teams that average 103 yards at 4.1 ypr. They’ll be geared up to shut down the only real offensive threat that St. Louis possesses – Todd Gurley. While the Rams ran well last week against a deflated Lions squad, they gained less than 95 yards rushing per game in the four games prior and I expect them to be limited in this game as well.
On the other side the Bucs offense has been better than average this season and are powered by a strong ground game that averages 142 rushing yards at 5.0 ypr against teams that allow 115 yards at 4.4. The Rams have talent on their defensive front but have been just league average defending the run this season so I expect the Bucs will be able to move the ball on the ground and win this game in the trenches.

I don't follow any one's picks, I did my own research and picked whatever I think it wiill bring me to the win column, the last few days were nice and winning for me. Today, I will go with St. Louis because my system is telling me that is the right side in this matchup. St. Louis - Rams minus whatever ....

I am better than 50% but I welcome insight from cappers who may have their finger more on the pro pulse than me. I like theMyth's insight on this one. He could be wrong, could be right but i have the game picked the same so it's reassuring. Vue, I don't even know what to make of him. The few times i've paid attention to his picks, in college, it's almost like he's giving you the opposite of what you should play. Once upon a time, before i knew any better, he made me doubt my own analysis. I really don't post much or read much in forums so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. Maybe vue is Sam friggin Rothstein but anyrime i've ever noticed his picks, in college, they've been jokes.

Realistically the playoff race is over for Tampa. But they can pretend they have a chance, and matimatically they do. The players know it is over. Both of these teams a fairly bad. I keep hearing how great this QB is for Tampa, but I don't think much of him.
I would say bet on the crappy home team instead of the crappy road team. Bettter yet, pass, or bet little.

Vue, stars don't matter WTF so ever, just folks making multiple picks trying to win a contest, most likely does not reflect on their personal wagering, hopefully not anyhow. yeah I lost on Dolphins side but won on the over, lost a little, but does not remove me or anyone from comment in this forum. we should always stick with your gut and math on games unless something makes inconclusive sense to move in the other direction. So let's stop harping on folks and saying negative stuff and be encouraging. As I've said before, if this sH*t were easy the old folks would stop playing bingo and maybe we would not be here posting and doing something else with our time. And to tell the truth as much as I enjoy this forum, if I was killing to the point to quit my job, I'd be fly fishing and powder skiing my a$$ off and most likely not posting at all, so let us chill on our egos and be cool. Agree with Nofrigginway... Vue and HOLT are the worst! just cuz HOLT always speaks in CAPS doesnt mean he knows what hes talking about. knew my Memphis bet was a loser today once I seen him on it. some great guys to fade on sbrforum too.

I don't always agree with TheMyth, but I appreciate that he gives good personal insight and analysis. When we pool together our different view pointsand information; we can help each other increase our odds of making the best choice.
That being said, I agree with the previous posts. Tampa Bay has been good against the run, and with the struggling pass offense of St Louis, I see the Bucs covering this spread in a low scoring game.

Kidd22, becarefull with the Under, I see this game easily goes Over the posted Total. If I have to play on the total, I will pick the Over. I could be wrong but this is what my system is telling me.
