Welcome back everyone!!! Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas/New Years/holiday season and hopefully you're not all frozen to the ground like I am. 6th? year of doing the greatest contest on Covers...and can't wait to get back to the grind! Here's a brief run-down of the rules...
1. The regular season will run 32 weeks from the Sony Open to the Wyndham Championships in August
2. Select TWO golfers every week from the field list...you cannot use a golfer more than once in the regular season
3. I will start the weekly thread for the tournament on Sunday night/Monday...you must post your selections before the FIRST GROUP tees off on Thursday. Once the tournament starts, all selections must be made.
4. Please copy and paste all of your previous selections into each weekly thread, it makes it a ton easier to track your picks.
5. We will have 8 "double points" weeks during the season...the 4 majors (Masters, US, British, PGA) as well as the WGC Bridgestone, the WGC Mexico, WGC Match Play, and the PLAYERS Championship.
6. You get the score for your selected player for that week. If your selected player misses the cut, is disqualified, withdraws, or does not finish the event, you will receive a score of 5 strokes higher than the worst finishing player for the week.
7. If you select the WINNING player for the week, you will receive a -10 bonus for the week...for instance, this week Dustin Johnson won the Sentry with a -24, if you picked him your score would have been -34 for the week. In a double points week, I double the score, then give the bonus.
8. If you miss more than 6 weeks overall, you will be booted from the competition. I know people have other commitments, but that's more than 20% of the season...that's enough.
9. The playoffs will run alongside the FedEx Cup playoffs, 4 weeks. The final rules will be finalized around the middle of the season, but it's usually the top 16 players moving on with a round robin type scoring system.
10. For every regular season winning pick you will receive a stroke bonus for the playoffs should you make it!
