DLIII Made 1 Error That Cost Us The Cup

I am not a Davis Love III fan. I did not like his pick as captain. I predicted he would lose the cup on his own. And he did....

Here is how....

The Ryder Cup was lost for one decision and one decision alone.

He front loaded his Sunday line up.

STUPID STUPID STUPID

He knew for a FACT that the Euros HADE to front load their lineup. They HADE to get off to a fast start.

He should have put his shit players out to slaughter.

If he puts out the lineup like this he wins the Ryder Cup with EASE. And I mean EASE.

Tiger Woods loses to Luke Donald

Steve Stricker loses to Ian Poulter

Matt Kuchar loses to Rory McIlroy

Jim Furyk loses to Justin Rose

Ok the Matches are now tied. Fine. You let your lambs get slaughtered. But now watch.

Jason Dufner and Dustin Johnson were not going to lose.

Snedeker was not going to win.

This brings us to the final 5 matches.

You now have Watson, Simpson, Bradley, Mickelson and Zach Johnson against the shit of Europe's roster. A couple of guys who have not played since Friday. Sergio and Westwood who can't putt, ect.

BUT we now have our two emotional LEADERS heading out to the course (Watson and Bradley).

We would have won at least 4 of these matches. And even at the very very worst they would have picked up the 2.5 points needed to win the cup.

When I saw the lineup this clown put out there I thought there was a good chance it was going to be a close match.

And please do not listen to this nonsense about how he wanted Tiger and Stricker at the back to save them if it came down to that. He was PRAYING it never got to them.

Everyone knew Donald, McIlroy, Rose and Poulter were going to win yesterday. NO matter who they played. Putting 3 of our best players out first was stupid and it cost us the Ryder Cup. The end. That is the reason why we lost. Davis Love III lost the cup on Saturday night.

But whatever, once players like Tiger, Stricker, Furyk and Mickelson are OFF THIS TEAM FOR GOOD we will start winning again. Tiger should just excuse himself from the team from now on. If we could have replaced those 4 guys with Watney, Fowler, Mahan and Ryan Moore we would have been able to sleep walk on Sunday.

U obviously know very little about the game or these guys. The bottom line is we did not perform on Sunday. DL III did a great job setting it up. The only player that played terrible is Stricker. Tiger literally carried them in the 4 ball matches. Tiger played 2 on 1 in both.

Also Bubba didnt play good at all and for you to say he is one our best is just dumb. Webb carried him to a 4 ball win but did you see the putts he missed under pressure? If you would do a little research before you spoke you would know who did what.

Stricker and Furyk late. Two of the softest chokers in Golf history when Europe couldn't win unless it was late, was the mistake.

the captain really has little effect, its a largely ceremonial post, its obvious who is in form and who isnt

what won it for europe is their camaraderie, they LOVE playing as team mates, the US are a bunch of individuals and still dont get the whole team spirit/ethos thing, thats why europe have been mopping up in ryder cups with players lower in the rankings

Without blasting my resume out there I played 4 years of high school Golf on a TEAM. I played 4 years of college Golf on a TEAM and I have played many TEAM events since graduating college. Including a USGA State Team event.

Team events have very little to do with actual on paper ability. They have to do with two things. Momentum and Emotion. Trust me on this, I have been inside the ropes.

Yes Tiger played well on Friday and Saturday, why? Because we had the momentum and emotion on our side.

Please take a look at his lifetime Ryder Cup record. He has been terrible the first two days and very good on Sunday. Now take a look at how the matches played out in all those years. The United States TEAM played poorly the first two days and much better on Sunday. Tiger goes as the TEAM goes. Why? Because he is NOT A LEADER. He could care less about these matches. Just look at 2008. Without Tiger on this TEAM we won with ease. It was never a match. Because for the first time in a very long time these guys played together as a TEAM.

It was a given that Europe was going to change the momentum and emotion of these matches early Sunday. No doubt about it. What we needed were our emotional leaders to bring up the rear and change that momentum back in our favor. Is Bubba Watson the best player on out team? Of course not. On tour he is in the middle to lower end of the pack. I know know this. But I also know he would have dump trucked Sergio and put momentum back on our side.

As for your first point yes you are right the captain really has nothing much to do other than pick the team and set the line up.

First off he screwed up picking the team. He had to pick Stricker because nobody else wants to play with Tiger. And he picked his buddy Furyk who has already choked away two major events this summer. He should have taken Watney and Mahan. Mahan would have been hungry as anybody to make up for '10. And Watney is another good locker room type guy.

As for your second point...you are 10000% CORRECT and this goes with everything I am saying.

Made the team at large 5a school. played varsity 1 time that year then every tourney as a junior and senior, played 4 years on a full ride a d II school. Was an all american. Played a practice round with Kuchar in 2006 for a nationwide event in Scranton Pa. Played the final 2 rounds of 1st stage of q school with Dustin Johnson in 2007 in Auburn Alabama. Made 200k plus on the mini tours.You wanna compare resumes or play a money game? Ok you get my point. Tiger is an individual no doubt but you saying feeding off energy is stupid. You get what you get from him. I have played with bubba too by the way final round in 2006 in a Tight Lies event in Houma La (All of this can be looked up online and you will see 1 name in common) He is a complete ass but he is like many athletes if he thinks he is the best he can be but if he doesnt he struggles. When Donald was dominating early he folded so when Donald made those mid round bogeys so did Bubba.

I can promise you one thing I understand situations and the mind of golfers way more than you! Also go do some research on who wins/loses based on stroke play by US players. We ahd great matchups and would have won easily had Stricker performed. Thats it period. 1.5 points in 4 ball and a minimum half in his singles matchup against Kaymer who woulda shot around 75. Get your facts straight kiddo

I started playing Golf in 1980 at the age of 4.

I to have played in events will well known pro's. I have played in 3 U.S. Juniors with a current PGA Tour player who is my same age. I'll let you do the math and figure out who. I don't need to name drop to make myself feel cool. But I'll give you a hint, he has been mentioned in this thread.

But yeah....I am so sure you know the game way better than me. Makes sense.

200k on the mini tours huh? Impressive.

What tour do you currently play? I have a couple of buddies who are still banging around in the minors as well maybe you know them.

If you play the eGolfTour at all I would be more than willing to come down and play for a little cash on a Monday or Tuesday

I haven't picked a golf club in my life... but I fucking know that Stricker sucked all weekend, and Furyk is a choker.. that's all you need to know, USA only needed half a point from Stricker all weekend and he couldn't deliver... USA only needed an up and down from Furyk in the clutch and he couldn't deliver, it's that easy

I have not been a regular poster on Covers for a few years and this is one of the reasons why. Everyone on the internet thinks they know everything.

I was actually just steaming when I created this thread anyway. Pissed off. Golf has been my lifelong passion and I was just angry the other night. No need to get into fights over it.

So I will not be checking this thread anymore.

Its funny how you can call people out then get mad when people come out. My point is you have a point of view and so do others so after my first response you had the audacity to say it went over my head not knowing there may be other knowledgeable golf fans out there. Blue has been around a lot longer than both of us. I know he has been around several tour players well senior tour now cuz he is getting old

. BUt regardless you came out with all this resume stuff but then when there was someone else with one it changed your position and you tried to turn it around on me. So now the pissing contest over hopefully we can all learn a little here and move on.

I havent played much in last 3 years but here and there. KNocked of the rust for south American tour school but wouldnt you know it choked just like the Americans and the Rangers. Oh well. I played the ETour back when it was teh Tar Heel tour.

i would have done the same why play best vs best? keep your strong players vs the uk weak players you do that by back loading not front loading

the other mistake he made was not playing mickelson/keegan friday afternoon they were on a roll
