well so much for any more Haotong Li 100-1 'to win" odds in the future unless is would be a major tourney after defeating Rory McIlroy (and looking GOOD doing it) last week at the Dubai Desert Classic
last season's tourney winner Fabrizio Zanotti [-19] final round [-9] 2nd David Lipsky [-18] 3rd Bernd Wiesberger [-17] 4th Alex Levy [-16] T-5th Haotong Li & Danny Willett [-15]
favorites this week Henrik Stenson 7-1 Alex Levy 15-1 Bernd Wiesberger 18-1 Haotong Li 20-1 Dylan Frittelli 20-1
didn't really bet any "to win" plays as really NO real "value" in the guys I liked. took these tourney match plays
Alex Bjork -110 over Haydn Porteous Chris Paisley -105 over Jeunghun Wang Haotong Li -105 over Bernd Wiesberger Alex Levy +150 over Henrik Stenson

well the story Friday was "The Kid and the Old Goats" .
18 year old Thai phenom Phachara "Little Kong" Khongwatmai with a 2nd round [-7] for tourney [-11] (birdied 5 in a row on his back side) tied for the lead with the Italian Nino Bertasio. "Little Kong" would have WON the Indonesian Masters back in December with a tourney [-21] BUT Justin Rose blew the whole field away with a final round [-10] for an unbelievable [-29]
44 year old Lee Westwood with a 2nd round "bomber" [-10] for tourney [-10] tied for 3rd
46 year old Thomas Bjorn, captain of the 2018 European Ryder Cup team, a 2nd round [-4] for tourney [-8] tied 14th
43 year old Stephen "Geezer" Gallacher [-7] for tourney [-9] tied 7th
49 year old Darren Clarke with his first made cut in a LONG time [-4] for tourney [-4]. congrats to him
as usual i am pretty much SCREWED in my tourney match plays. LOSE Alex Bjork [-2] CUT over Haydn Porteous [-3] CUT and LOSE Haotong Li [+1] CUT over Bernd Wiesberger [-2] CUT. should have known better than to bet Li after his HUGE win last week at the DDC a LOT of times players with a big win figure "I got mine" and loaf their next tourney
Alex Levy [-7] over Henrik Stenson [-5] very much in doubt. ONLY play really working right now Chris Paisley [-10] (one of the tied 3rd group) over Jeunghun Wang [-4]
ANYONES tourney right now. with the low rounds being scored the people that just made the cut @ [-4] really not THAT far back. last year Fabrizio Zanotti shot a final round [-9] for tourney [-19] to "ace out" David Lipsky by one stroke

after the 3rd round it is South African (or is it Italian?) Dylan Frittelli (with two wins in the last 7 months) and Spaniard Jorge Campillo (who has NEVER won on the Euro Tour) tied for first with 3rd rounds of [-6] for tourney [-15]. unknown players Indian Khalin Joshi (OWGR #558) and American Berry Henson (OWGR #662) tied for 3rd with [-7] for tourney [-14] one shot back. my boy "Little Kong" Khongwatmai with a very pedestrian [-2] for tourney [-13] tied 5th with six others.
their are 11 players within 5 shots of the leaders that shot [-6] under or better their 3rd round including Japanese PGA tour journeyman Ryo Ishikawa with a [-9] for tourney [-13] and Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal with a [-8] for tourney [-12]. Chris Paisley kind of "blew up" (for him) with an [even] for [-10] but HEY, NO one is OUT of this within 5 shots of the lead. this tourney in infamous for "bomber" final rounds

watching the final round on Golf Channel. TIGHT early on. Jorge Campillo [-3] for [-18] thru #5. four tied @ [-16] including Dylan Frittelli, Joberg Open winner Shubhankar Sharma and my pet Kiwi Ryan Fox also the other Indian Khalin Joshi just got to [-16]
btw, the greens have been looking pretty "ratty" this week and esp today

Indian Shubhankar Sharma just an amazing final round [-10] for tourney [-21]to blow away last years winner Fabrizio Zanotti final round [-9] for tourney [-19] record and WIN the Maybank Open his 2nd win of the young season. Sharma is also already qualified for The Open Championship. WHAT have I been saying about "bomber" rounds on this course throughout this tourney ???
at least Chris Paisley hung on to beat Jeunghun Wang [-11]to [-5] AND I got lucky with Alex Levy over Henrik Stenson [-7] to [-6] SO I pretty much get a "splitski" this week
btw, I think Chris Paisley need so pass on that World Super 6 foolishness in Perth, Australia next week and get ready for the two desert tourneys after that. same with Dylan Frittelli. they BOTH looked a little "ragged out" the final two rounds in this one. Dylan good tee to green BUT just could NOT make a putt the last two days on those ratty greens

Oh and gotta feel bad for 3rd round tied for the lead Jorge Campillo. he birdies #18 to get 2nd on his own BUT yet another missed chance for a WIN . that is now his 4th 2nd on the Euro Tour in his career
