Guys I've said it for years, identify the chokers and make money. There are a few that jump out at me where you can see the tension in them every time they are in a big spot.
Please add any you feel should be on the list. Obviously one meltdown doesn't constitute a trend.
Charley Hoffman
Steve Stricker
Bill Haas
Rickie Fowler
Sergio

yeah I posted about Charley a little lower on the board. Made a good amount last week on his latest choke. Paddy Harrington has his moment as well. I would also add Roberto Castro. Not that he's a top player. But he seems to play well early and fade later. Something to think about today possibly.

As great as Tom Watson is , he used to (and a lot of people still think he has these problems ) have some serious issues with his short putts ; the yips.

The only reason as to why people dont mention this guy, is because he has won quiet a bit, whereas Stricker and Garcia have not managed to win much, so everytime they lose it just weakens their W/L compared to a guy like Phil. If Phil wasnt a choker then he would be favored at every single major played.

Undoubtedly Phil Mickelson.

Geezus, look up the number of golfers all time that have as many wins and majors as Phil, then please never post in a golf thread again.

van velde for sure but phil at wing foot no way. it wasn't a major but furyk would've won with double bogey and he triple or quadrupled without any penalty strokes.

Noone would ever mistaken Mickelson as the guy who gave Woods competitive concerns in his career.
Nicklaus, however, had to deal with the likes of Palmer, Player, Trevino, Watson et. al. Nicklaus' competitors were ugly tough and took majors directly away from him in which he finished in second place.
Look that up Ben Hogan but you won't of course.
I am familiar with Mickelson's record and only once did he finish number one in a major and Tiger finished number two. That does not merit as the definition of a tough competitor in my mind.

Who says im talking about majors only? Jesus, wake da fuq up and get real.
Idk if hes a mental midget, but fact is, Mickelson isnt good when it counts. If its a coincedence or not idk, but in crunch time he is known for fading. He is such a consistent and great player, but usually @ the last holes he dissapears if he is ahead or scouting for the lead.

Sergio though is the classic here-hands down winner since Norman, and at least Norman won majors...what makes me really root against the ahole is how he acts at the Ryder like he's really worth something...hey dude, just win once by yourself outside that format, ok? Then you can open all the champagne you want...

Some of you guys just have such little knowledge its a joke. The reason you guys think Phil is a choker is he has been there so many times. When you have a chance to win that many times some days you just are not gonna have it. That is just golf.
The main chokers are Sergio and Stricker but thats only for majors. Once again they have won a bunch so hard to say they always choke.
And then someone mentioned Castro? Seriously? Dude is in his 2nd year on tour. How many guys win that soon? Not many. How long did it take Fowler? I mean is Rory a choker cuz he has played so shitty in 1st 2 rounds. What about Westwood? He has never won a major and been in contention a few times.
Golf is a fickle game boys. It can just go away in a blink of an eye and you feel helpless. Kinda of corny but its like what Shane Falco in The replacements talks about. Quicksand. That garbage is real!
