created a topic Honest opinion on live bet.. should I have hedged..?? in MLB Betting So I'm up 3450 this week.. I placed a small live bet on atl and cubs under 5.5 @ +148.. 250 to win 370.. this was in the 5th inning score was 2-0.. top of 7th inning live bet was over 5.5 +235.. 250 to win 587. Atl pitching was lights out.. end of 7th inning no longer had over at 5.5 it went to 4.5.. but lots of times in these situations I hedge so I can't lose.. if I hedged I either win 120 or 337.. If I don't hedge I either lose 250 or win 370.. I figured 3 runs to spare with 3 innings left isn't a bad bet.. but as you saw cubs got 3 runs bottom of 8th. 3-2 still had a chance to win if cubs shutout atl which they did for 7 innings.. but cubs gave up a run and tied it 3-3 and I lost my wager.. call it bad luck or what not.. how many of you guys would have hedged it?? Avail only top of 7th inning.. score is 2-0.. over under 5.5.. I look at it now and I should have hedged.. but I honestly didn't think this game would go over and thought of instead of winning 370 over 120.. if I hedged id be rooting for the over.. to win 337.. Of course I could have hedged to cover my losses.. risk about 110 to win 250 and either win 260 or break even.. which is probably the smartest bet of all.. but I'm also up well 3200 instead of 3450 now.. goal was 4k this week and quit.. now I may just sit on 3200.. replied to Baltimore at San Francisco (02/03/2013) in Pro Football balt +4.5 everyone pounding the niners.. vegas wants balt to win. read an article in past how sf win sb will hurt them in future bets.. line moved back up 1 pt.. when does vegas ever get it wrong.. lol sf may win by a fg.. to me its a coin flip.. ill take the hotter team that beat denver and pounded pats on the road.. plus balt won last three meetings.. flacco has better numbers.. id take rice over gore any day.. plus you have a shaky kicker.. main factor qb playing his 10 total start against the ravens def.. If he starts to miss a few do you think the niners will lose faith and go for it on 4th and short.? I'll take the points and think this game will come down to a FG. Both teams can come back from behind and once ahead I see them being on running attack mode more conservative. Both teams have great rb. Niners defense did give up some points in the playoffs.. Experience goes to ravens and think kaep will have a few turnovers. Game of his life has to be some what nervous.. 11 weeks ago he was a bench warmer.. 2 of the 4 losses the niners had were in a dome.. Minny and St. Louis..
