 Going to the season opener .Early games are hard to capp because trying to keep up with all the new players transfers portals etc  I handicapp the following but all are small plays . The lines seem off but its probably my lines that are off not Vegas odds . All small plays

 Johnnies -18.5 over Fordham **

 love Posh Alexander and Pitino  Johnnies felt they got snubbed from an invite to " big dance" last year. Think Pitino and his boys come out smoking  Rams always play tough vs crosstown rival since Johnnies steal all the NYC headlines in newspapers and TV. Think adding Richmond to Johnnies gives them more scoring power. Johnnies have some air craft carriers inside and Rams will have a tough time matching up on defense.

 St Bonnies -8 over Cal Northridge **

 Temple -14 over Sacred Heart **

 URI-11.5 over Fairfield **

 Hit the transfer portal big time  Thomas is back from transferring and will lead Rams over the Stags  Stags have all new gds and could take some time playing together. 

Quinnipac + 8.5 over Yale **

 Look out for the Bobcats. Could be the best team in the MAAC. Two Conn schools and Quinn takes this game a lot more serious then the Bulldogs . Quinn has 2 fds that can rebound and score . Yale best player transferred to Michigan and think Quinn can keep this close.

 Texas -1.5 over Ohio St **

 Think Texas has the talent to match up with the Buckee's . Texas lost a lot but Pope is making everyone  making forget the other stars that are gone  The key is to get Shedrick their 6'11 player who was backup to step up to play the post and be a scorer inside. Buckeyes have the size inside and are physical  Should be a close game and give the edge to Texas at home.

 Zaga _6 over Baylor *** 

 Like the zaga's offense and Baylor D could have problems 

 Think all these games should be played very very lightly since many of these teams are really unknown and many teams have 3 or more starters playing in a new systems new teammates new colleges new dorms etc   Its going to be interesting to sit and watch Tex St tonite . Almost all new starters Dru might be out   But I can sit anywhere I want in the Bobcats Staduim only a row or two from the court.  going with Eastern Mich defense will have trouble vs Bobcats offense. Miss some of my favorite Tex St Players  esp the big kid Love who I have seen from a 6'5 freshman to a  6'10 power fd down low. HE transferred to Nevada and really thought he would lead the Bobcats to a Sun conf title   But thats the transfer portal for you  again really shouldn't play any of these games because its so early in the season Should get a few games under your belt to really handicapp the proper way.. But good luck tonite  for everyone . Love going to these games when the gym is almost empty and I can sit anywhere I want in row 3 or 4 court side.  It's like me going to the Marist games in Poughkeepsie ..

Army's QB Bryson did not play  Got a text from my buddy that Bryson might not play but was out shopping and couldn't change the bet  Army won but didn't cover .. Oh well  Have Navy and Oregon today 

 LIke Army and Navy big today...  Worried about Michigan-Oregon  Oregon could win big over a mediocre Michigan offense  Not sure if Mich D can stop the Ducks   Think both service academies win big and cover  Much talk about Bryson in the running for the Heisman   Think Monken will let him gets some extra snaps in to pad his already amazing stats   The Point has a Heisman candidate who is breaking records scoring and rushing the football   But this kid can pass accurately and many think he is a better passer then a runner.  I love when he fakes the option and keeps it  Army or any other option QB that keeps the ball is elusive and has moves... Dyson is a big kid with moves but lowers his head on contact and muscles over you like a full back ...Go Dailey  Go  

Army blows out Air Force at home Army QB is getting Heisman talk because he can run like a fullback and can pass the ball No stopping Bryson and the Black Nites

 Navy -11 over Rice ***

 Navy was undefeated and then ran into Notre Dame   Rice D has no one to stop Horvath and co as Navy blows Rice off the field   

 Navy vs Army in a few weeks  Army is ranked and not taken the hated Air force lightly  Plus Monken is getting Heisman talk about his QB so he lets him  stay in a little bit longer vs Air force  Last yr Army beat AF 23-3. Rivalry game but with being ranked and a top contender in Bryson for Heisman Air cadets are in trouble ,Dailey although has played against weaker teams on Defense is dominating the option attack  ND I'd stop Navys option but Air Force Defesne has been bad.  Dailey is breaking every rushing record for Army and has 19 touchdowns .. He fakes the hand off and then runs over the Line backers and Db's He is a fullback when he keep the ball   And this kid can throw. the ball   He avgs over 360 yds  AF is 1-6 and 0-4 in conf. Their coach had to tell his Air cadets to stop talking smack on the internet because the Black nite are using it for Bulletin bd material   Really don't need it vs Air Force.  Dailey avgs 147yds in the air and 171 rushing. .

Enjoyed the game  It was very windy last night at the stadium and loved Woolridge the QB for Ul Laf  big kid with a strong arm. The Tex St band and Strutters put on  a great halftime show but there was no betting on half time shows . La Laf wore their white uniforms because Tex St likes to wear their black uniforms   They look intimidating and like the new coach Kinne a lot but Ragin Cajins were to much for the Bobcats. Sat near the Bobcat basketball team and realize they have a game next week  Have to start by hoops scheduling next week   thanks sportchat

I was at the game   strong winds thru out the game .. Although I'm 20 miles north of San Marcus the winds were strong thru out  good call on the weather 

UL Laf is now +4.5   ****I must be missing something   I think La Laf is the better team and could win outright 

going to the game I'm about 20 minutes north  from the stadium and the weather looks great  And if the wind is a factor think Cajins have an advantage .. good luck

Going to the game tonite in San Marcus. Think wrong team is favored Ragin Cajuns run that 4-2-5 defense and think this might cause the Tx St QB some problems. La Laf is 10-0 vs Tex St and last yr beat them 34-30 . and the yr before 41-13 and the year before that 45-0. Cajuns have dominated this series They have a sold QB in Woolridge have the 29th best rushing attack and have won 4 in a row on the road. Tx St last week lost to ODU and have lost 2 of last 3 home games. Laf has beaten the Bobcats 34-30,41-13 44-34 31-3,42-27 27-7 and 45-0 .. They have won and covered in this series. Laf is 6-1 and 3-0 in the Sun Conf .Tx St is 4-3 and and 2-1 in conf. Think the better team tonight is the Cajuns and getting a few points is extra . Think they could win this outright ..

Pushed with North Texas lost with SMU    Watched North Texas  today and their defense will have big time problems when they play Army in a few weeks   No line yet but Army's option offense will run all over NT's D.. Won a few Took Vandy +20 over Texas.. Glad Texas won but 20 pts was a lot. Was worried about Vandy's heads being swollen after beating Bama  But our local newspaper here in Austin had a feature article about Vandy star player a kid from Austin and was one of the best running backs in the state and was kinda of overlooked when he was recruited   Not  of his stats today   Had to go to a matinee movie with my wife  today.." Conclave ". I liked it being catholic and all..  But not sure if everyone else would like it. Army plays it Force .. not sure it might be next week  Air cadets are talking " smack"  Think Army will blow them out big time . I'm sure Af coach is telling his players to Shut the F   up .. But Army will score and score and only sub when they are up 3 or more Td's up and there is 2 minutes left in the game.   Not sure what the line will be ...

What followed were scoring runs of 17 and 31 yards in the second quarter; 1 and 3 yards in the third; and, a 4-yard score with under five minutes to play, providing late relief in a 45-28 victory over the Pirates.

 He broke a few Armys Touchdown records  5 tds today 

 He also lowered his shoulder when running and knocked some linebackers and db's about 4 yds back like a full back .  He could be a possible candidate for the Heisman . Army is undefeated and next week has Air force at home  then 2 away games vs North Texas and Notre Dame.. If he continues scoring td's he is in the race for a Heisman . He does rush like a fullback and lowers his body on contact . And although today if anyone saw him play he could break a lot of scoring records at Army. The Corp call him " Superman"   I am a believer after today watching him. The knock on him is the teams he is going against .. But if does what he is doing to Notre Dame he might be invited to the Heisman dinner. Imagine  a cadet winning this award .. Go Bryson .. 

Its 2 teams with not great opponents . Think ECU has to change its defense to stop Army's option attack All new defensive assignments and schemes. Army runs the same option and we'll see how ECU defense tries to stop the option  Monken makes his option changes and again with a QB who can chew up yards and really hasn't been tested with his arm will cause ECU defense big time problems  Think after seeing Army and watching them on tape ECU will and must stop Bryson option From stopping his rushing and hand offs < Bryson see's what the defense is giving him Think that Bryson will fake his hand offs and keeps he ball . He is probably one of the best rushing qb's because he is built like a full back and when he gets to the line of scrimmage does he tuck it under and keep the ball or dish to one of his rb's  Both backs are talented and can turn up field  And if Robinson who is back after sitting out last season is really the fastest then all there other rb's. All week ECU defensive players are practicing on " how to stop the Black nites . The Off line of Army is a strength and they know their assignments .  ECU defense playing Appa St,ODU and UTSA offenses haven't been really tested. Army in the past has handled the Michigans and Notre Dames  with 5 star Def tackles and ends. Army is not pass blocking unless they get behind because there off lineman push out and block . The Army OL is like a machine and everyone knows their assignments. . Navy does the same. But Bryson has an accurate arm and when you have someone that is accurate and can pass the ball something has to give  My buddy who has season tickets to Army says " he could be the best QB Army has ever had.  After seeing him last week vs UAB my buddy could be right But the season is young and me seeing him once .. I need to see him a few times . It is easy for Army to accumulate big yards vs's the ODU's and Appa States but in the past they do the same thing vs the Oklahoma's Notre Dame s and Michigans   Army might look ahead because on Nov 9th they play in Denton Texas  and my North Texas ..lol ....we really haven't seen Bryson's arm yet  and think ECU will put more defenders in the box and make Bryson throw. But Bryson has 13-14 rushing Td's He has over 750 yds rushing  think 7th in the country in scoring. Army is always criticized because of the schedule but when they play the " big boys" they can stay with them Except LSU where they were beaten 62-0 last yr. Navy is 6-0 and it would be great if both play each other and the winner gets an invite to the playoffs . think Monken might realize his QB is Heisman material and lets him roll up some extra yds instead of him subbing . Good luck everyone   Think I'm drinking to much Orange Kool aide backing Texas and living near the Hudson River my whole life cheering for my Black Nites  No I never drank Hudson River water .. good luck everyone this week
