The Nats have a solid option in John Lannan if they want to try a 6 man rotation or simply skip a Strasburg start. Simply put, Rizzo has never said they would 'absolutely' shut him down -- he's only said that was the plan, and I believe it still is....for now. 4 more weeks and they'll be at a crossroads, and I just don't see how they'll be able to justify the salary they paid him if they're not going to pitch him when it counts.
