@NeverBrokeAgain Thank you, NBA, for those kind words, they touched me deeply. Throughout the years I've made it my mission to help those who find themselves trapped in debt to their local bookmaker at the end of the season. Particularly, because I know it affects their loved ones. I understand their struggles because I've experienced them firsthand during my upbringing. Thanks again. |

@Ihatebengals Well, they were a +1.5-dog last year against Philly in Superbowl 57. They were a dog at the Buffalo Bills in the playoff game +2.5. They were a + 4.5 dog at Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago in a huge playoff game against Lamar Jackson, who can run like a cheetah. K.C. won all three games. |

Gambling story... Let's rewind to 2005, or 2006, I cannot recall exactly! I noticed that Florida lotto Powerball number # 20 hasn't come out in ages. I cannot recall the exact Jackpot amount, but it was well over a million dollars. So, I put down 400 bucks on PB number 20, and let the machine do its thing and pick the other five random numbers. I think it was before nationwide Powerball existed. Anyway, I had 400 tickets with PB 20 and 5 random numbers. That Saturday afternoon before the drawing, my family had come to visit. My brother-in-law, who also likes to take a chance now and then, inquired about all the tickets I had on the table. When I told him, "He asked, how about splitting with me?" Hmmm, I hesitated a bit, thinking, I'd be happy with a half million, and I said OKAY, I'm not too greedy. Fork over 200.00. 'Okie Doki, he said,"... Deal, and we shook on it! At 10 P.M. I turned on the T.V. had a drink and 'We" eagerly anticipated the outcome at 11. p.m. The first five numbers were announced, followed by the thrilling declaration " And the Powerball number is 20!" Well, we didn't win the Million, but had a great time going through 400 tickets. We had 3 numbers on many, many, tickets, and a few with three numbers with Powerball. Totaling 1,800.00. which we split.

My overall Superbowl record on this platform is now 18-4 over the last 22 years. Still not too shabby. This season Patrick appears to be in much better health. I cannot imagine the veteran trio of Mahomes, Kelce, and Coach Andy Ried could lose to a young quarterback like Brock Purdy, a rookie kicker, and a coach who struggled in two Super Bowls leading in both. Especially, after watching Patrick upset two experienced quarterbacks as an underdog, Allen and Jackson in playoff games, on the road. In contrast, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly won both of their home games, despite being heavily favored. In the first game, the Green Bay Packers led 21-17 with six minutes to go, and on the 49er 25-yard line, but the inexperienced Jordan Love couldn't put them away. In the second playoff game, the Detroit Lions had a 24-7 lead before halftime against the 49ers, but the inexperienced coach was overly aggressive on fourth down. As a result, they lost in the second half. Hence, my official selection for Superbowl 58, is Kansas City + 2.5. Thank you in advance for your replies, whether you agree, disagree, mock, or "critic." It's all good. Remember to smile as much as you can, it's the happiness you'll find right under your nose! Hopefully, I will see you again next year, God willing. Good Luck, Don Juan

However, as fate would have it, Patrick did play the entire game and, despite his limp, won his second MVP. He put on an incredible performance, and Coach Andy Ried's excellent time management in the final two minutes, was critical in securing the victory. |

As you may recall, last year, I took the Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl. My decision was heavily influenced by Patrick Mahomes' uncertain leg injury, which raised concerns about his performance. Furthermore, the Eagles could control the clock thanks to an outstanding offensive line that allowed them to make a first down with the tush-push whenever they had less than two yards. |

Greetings, friends and football fans, I'd like to take a moment to re-introduce myself, as there seems to be an imposter on Covers pretending to be me. Yes, it's me, the real Don Juan, still kicking at the ripe age of 81. I want to clarify that I do not repost old messages, this is my first post in about a year.

@Crusher13 Hello, Crusher13. Yes, I am frustrated because I can no longer use my avatar. They stated that it could not be used unless I delete and rejoined. Something to do with how it was set up 22 years ago. Good Luck today. |

@Mrkoban I am confident that the game will be very close in terms of scoring. A good bet is a three-tease. Philadelphia +8.5 Kansas City + 11.5 Over 41. |

Yes, I'm still alive. I consider it a great honor to have seen every Superbowl since its inception, as well as to contribute to Covers, where my ATS record in the last 21 years is 18-3. I'm grateful for the trust that old friends, new friends, and complete strangers have shown me. Thank you so much for your thoughtful words. This year, my instinct tells me to go with Philly, for a number of reasons. First and foremost, as I watched Jalen Hurts play at Alabama and Oklahoma, I thought he'd make an excellent NFL quarterback. He exhibited the same calm and composure as Patrick Mahomes over the last two years. Second, there are the receivers...The Chiefs' loss of elite WR Tyreek Hill during the off-season, as well as the improved secondary of the Eagles, will be significant in this game. And the addition of WR A.J. Brown has greatly benefited the Eagles. The Chiefs had to rebuild their receiving corps after Tyreek signed with Miami, which they did admirably. Tyreek could take it all the way in an instant or make a crucial first down. In fact, the last time they met the Eagles, he scored three touchdowns. Without Tyreek Hill, the edge goes to Philly, with A.J. brown and Heisman trophy winner Devante Smith. And who doesn't love Andy Reid? His coaching will keep the game very close. However, I believe Brown and Smith, along with Philly's three-pronged running attack will be enough to win in the final minutes. Therefore, my official Superbowl 57 pick is the Philadelphia Eagles. For the first time on Covers, I'm using the money line -125 Farewell, my friends. If I lose my marbles before SB 58, remember, "Family comes before wagering." Good Luck and Godspeed, Your old-timer friend, Don Juan

Wildwomenrock. I understand your dissatisfaction. You're obviously a young stud since you're looking at all the misfortunes that have befallen you. Rather than looking at the total number of the breaks on both sides. Over the years, I've learned to look at the big picture and look for trends. As I mentioned in my prediction, the trend was close games all year and late Cincinnati comebacks by the Bengals. You say Cincinnati stinks, yet they made it to the Super Bowl. That game had a 3-point margin written all over it. That is all I'll say about this subject. Better luck next time my friend.

And his coach is doing an outstanding job, particularly with halftime adjustments! The Bengals have been extremely competitive on the road, with no losses of more than five points. In fact, they only lost two of their 23 games (including preseason) by more than five points all year, which is remarkable, when you think about it.
It reminds me of a counter puncher; they take your opening punches to see what you've got, then modify accordingly. And the crowd noise does not appear to distract the Bengals, as proven by the playoff games in Tennessee and Kansas City.
The Rams, on the other hand, have put all of their chips on the table, adding Matt Stafford along with a couple of big-name players during the season. They mortgaged their future for this year, yet I have the impression that something is still lacking there. Perhaps they haven't spent enough time with the new players coming on board, I'm not quite sure.
Earlier in the season, they beat Tampa Bay by ten points, but in the playoffs, the Bucs rallied to tie the game when the Rams' whole season was on the line. Despite the fact that the Rams were way ahead, and the Buccaneers were without a number of key players.
Moreover, I'm apprehensive about the three division games versus San Francisco. I just cannot get them out of my head, With all of their talent, you'd figure the Rams would annihilate them. The 49ers, on the other hand, destroyed them in the first game. And in the last two at home, they allowed Garoppolo to win one of them and were fortunate to win the last by three points. This trend worries me.
After much deliberation, I'm going to trust my instincts and take the points. Based on what I have witnessed from Joe previously, and this season, I cannot go against him. His track record is far too impressive. I believe he will keep the game close, probability of overtime.
Therefore, my selection for Superbowl 56, is Cincinnati + 4.5
Thank you in advance for your replies; whether you agree, disagree, or mock me, it's fine.
If I lose my marbles before SB-57, always remember this..." family comes before wagering."
Best of luck and Godspeed.
Your old friend, Don Juan
