Instead of a story, I'll share a few tips on achieving success in football, because I'm concerned that young people are risking their future on foolish gambling, The key to winning is becoming proficient at one sport. Become an expert at whatever you do, and a professional. 

As for me, I spend the whole year focused on football; I always keep a log of all 32 teams. From new head coaches, trades, retirements, injuries, and the draft. I watch just about every game televised.

However, one must have patience and determination. Perhaps join contests while waiting for your opening, and wager wisely.

To continue with the true story...She walked quietly in the dark over to the camper van that looked like ours. She peeped through the window and saw a guy snoozing in the passenger seat. Just then he reached for the glove compartment, so she took off back to the restroom, like a startled cat! She thought about waking up the semi-driver to ask for a dime to make a phone call or even a cigarette, but she didn't want him to think she was some kind of a floozy.

Anyway, I finally reached the rest area at the crack of dawn. There she was with hands on her hip, giving me the classic, "You better have a good excuse look" But before she could say anything, her mother jumped out and hugged her, we all hugged thankful that she was safe. To this very day, every time we pass a rest area, she takes her purse with her, and if we decide to pass a rest area, she glares at me out of the corner of her eye.  LOL Btw, when I told her I was telling this story, she said. Do you have to tell it again?   GL all.

Picture this: I'm zooming down the highway going eighty miles an hour hoping the next exit would magically appear like a genie out of a bottle. Yes, there it is, finally after six miles. Took the exit, crossed the bridge, and hopped back on heading north. But, lo and behold, you guessed it, an accident in the right lane, making a five-minute backup feel like an eternity. Meanwhile, I found out later, that my wife came out of the ladies' restroom, looked around, and saw what looked like our van next to a semi, near the woods. S Damn, too many words, I will continue...

To continue... Of course, I didn't think twice. I spun around and zoomed down I-95 South like a bat out of hell. My memory was a bit fuzzy because it was pitch black when I stopped. Meanwhile, my mother-in-law was in the passenger seat crying for over an hour. I thought her purse was still in the van, so she had no cigarettes. Of course, back in the 1980s, there were no cell phones, just a pay phone on a post outside the restrooms. At last, I spotted the rest area across the highway, but I had to drive another seven miles to find the exit to turn back North. Just then she shouted, "Stop, and let me out" "I'll cross the highway while you turn around!" I couldn't believe it, was she out of her mind? There was no way I was letting a little old lady dash across the four-lane highway......

When I was around 40 years old, my wife, her aging mother, and I were traveling north on I-95 Florida in a small camper van. I preferred to drive late at night because my wife smoked. So, she was asleep in the back. Around 4 am I stopped at a rest area to pee. About four minutes later, I jumped back into the van and took off. Two hours or so later I asked my Mother-in-Law, who was in the front seat, where she would like to stop for breakfast. She shouted; She's GONE!  What? I said.  She got out after you did to use the bathroom too, she replied, and she began to cry!  Continued...

In Superbowl 57, the Eagles moved up and down the field. They were ahead 24-14 at the half and 27-21 in the fourth. However, they didn't have the running game or defense they have now with S. Barkley and DT Carter. Moreover, the Chiefs benefitted from a ticky-tacky holding call, giving them a first down, allowing them to run out the clock and kick the winning field goal 38-35. I seriously doubt they will do it again. Fly Eagles!

Philly +7.5 and Over 43.5 would be a pretty darn good bet. 

If you had to choose a surgeon for your heart surgery, would you trust a just-out-of-school progressive doctor, or a seasoned physician with decades of experience and full capabilities?

Hello, old friends. At age 82, I better make my pick early! I'm feeling pretty good lately, but my fingers are starting to look like pretzels. Now If I could only find a cure for these walking farts, I might have a social life! 

There is no question in my mind that there will be no three-peat and S. Barkley will hold up the trophy. 

Over the last 23 years, I have a solid SB record of 19-4. My official pick for SB#59 is the Eagles+1.5

 Well, they were a +1.5-dog last year against Philly in Superbowl 57. They were a dog at the Buffalo Bills in the playoff game +2.5. They were a + 4.5 dog at Baltimore Ravens two weeks ago in a huge playoff game against Lamar Jackson, who can run like a cheetah. K.C. won all three games.

Gambling story... Let's rewind to 2005, or 2006, I cannot recall exactly! I noticed that Florida lotto Powerball number # 20 hasn't come out in ages. I cannot recall the exact Jackpot amount, but it was well over a million dollars. So, I put down 400 bucks on PB number 20, and let the machine do its thing and pick the other five random numbers. I think it was before nationwide Powerball existed. Anyway, I had 400 tickets with PB 20 and 5 random numbers.

That Saturday afternoon before the drawing, my family had come to visit. My brother-in-law, who also likes to take a chance now and then, inquired about all the tickets I had on the table. When I told him, "He asked, how about splitting with me?"  Hmmm, I hesitated a bit, thinking, I'd be happy with a half million, and I said OKAY, I'm not too greedy.  Fork over 200.00. 'Okie Doki, he said,"... Deal, and we shook on it!

At 10 P.M. I turned on the T.V. had a drink and 'We" eagerly anticipated the outcome at 11. p.m. The first five numbers were announced, followed by the thrilling declaration " And the Powerball number is 20!"

Well, we didn't win the Million, but had a great time going through 400 tickets. We had 3 numbers on many, many, tickets, and a few with three numbers with Powerball. Totaling 1,800.00. which we split.

My overall Superbowl record on this platform is now 18-4 over the last 22 years. Still not too shabby. 

This season Patrick appears to be in much better health. I cannot imagine the veteran trio of Mahomes, Kelce, and Coach Andy Ried could lose to a young quarterback like Brock Purdy, a rookie kicker, and a coach who struggled in two Super Bowls leading in both. Especially, after watching Patrick upset two experienced quarterbacks as an underdog, Allen and Jackson in playoff games, on the road.

In contrast, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly won both of their home games, despite being heavily favored. In the first game, the Green Bay Packers led 21-17 with six minutes to go, and on the 49er 25-yard line, but the inexperienced Jordan Love couldn't put them away.

In the second playoff game, the Detroit Lions had a 24-7 lead before halftime against the 49ers, but the inexperienced coach was overly aggressive on fourth down. As a result, they lost in the second half.

Hence, my official selection for Superbowl 58, is Kansas City + 2.5.

However, as fate would have it, Patrick did play the entire game and, despite his limp, won his second MVP. He put on an incredible performance, and Coach Andy Ried's excellent time management in the final two minutes, was critical in securing the victory.

 As you may recall, last year, I took the Philadelphia Eagles to win the Super Bowl. My decision was heavily influenced by Patrick Mahomes' uncertain leg injury, which raised concerns about his performance. Furthermore, the Eagles could control the clock thanks to an outstanding offensive line that allowed them to make a first down with the tush-push whenever they had less than two yards.
