	created a topic Need Help in MLB Betting Ok so I have a friend who's new to betting and he's going through a local bookie. Yesterday he lost his bet of $175 on the a's (-1.5) to beat the astros at (-140) juice. Now the bookie is telling him he owes him $245 not $175 because -140 means he risk losing $140 for every 100 bets. My friend is not sure whose right and whose wrong since the bookie keeps telling him there are many different types of bets. So who's right?
