^ Detroit could very well put up big numbers. But I have something called the "Ocho Cinco learning curve theory" in full affect. New coaching staff with new philosophy. It takes a little bit before they get acclimated to play calling.
Take that into consideration before placing that wager at the window Good luck guys and make that money tonite !

Sorry for starting another thread but this will be the only other game I will be dissecting.
JAGS 1-1 - even though they lost to the Bears last week the starters for the Jags looked pretty good. What's their focus this week? Scoring Tds instead of FGs. Henne will continue to improve with the young talent on this team. The coaching staff are also very hyped up and has plenty to prove this year. LIONS 1-1 - both qbs are solid. Run game not there yet and defense slacking as well. James ihedigbo lead with 5 tackles and Proctor had the only sack on the team? they are in trouble if thats what you see every week. Stafford is another one of those guys that the coaching staff want to protect from injury. JAGS 1st half +2.5 JAGS +3 |

Lets break this down a little
Rams 0-2 - other the Bradford being efficient against the Packers last week the Rams looked horrible offensive and defensively. Non existent run game and allowed the Pack to score every quarter. Don't get confused here, the rams have a solid defensive. With Bradford being fragile there will be a possibility of him being pulled early, even before the end of the first half. Look to see the Rams practice pass and run packages against a Browns team that's pretty solid on defense as well. Both teams lack the ability to score on offense. Pick to come later

Eagles 1st half
Under will be close. Eagles D coming up pretty big though. The layer of reads after the eagles snap the ball is entertaining as hell Good luck the rest of the week everyone

I read an article about oddmakers and how they come up with their numbers. One of the biggest attributes they use is the public perception on teams. In this case you have a team the scores alot and fast that does not have a great defense. Again this is what the general public perceives and not anything more

Ryan shazier will be getting alot of playing time tonite. Pretty pumped to see thaf. Should be a good game with alot of players getting a chance to prove themselves. The Steelers rbs will suit up and do some damage but not enough for the "defense focus" Eagles in this game. Eagles D being called out to "do something" because of their performance last season and this preseason. Rookie wideouts usually don't show up until their 3rd year so I still stand by my under 50 pick.

I will try to keep this as brief as possible. Most of my NFL/NCAAF twitter followers know that I can go forever about Chip Kelly's spread offense and his efficient practice routine but this is still a preseason game. So ill save the inside,
outside zone read, power play and Chip's universal formation for the regular season. Unless there are last minute changes this is what I gather will be tested on Thursday night. - Big Ben will play complete 1st half with the 1st team with him. - Steelers want to run the ball and give Archer a good number of reps. - You will see at least 2 no huddle package from the eagles in the first half. - I know Chips offense very well and he will test his qbs reaction to certain defensive formation. This will be up to Foles on what to call. - focus the week for the eagles will be limiting turnovers. - starters will see the bulk of the field time Eagles 1st half -2.5 Under 50 Good luck everyone |

Still dissecting the game a little bit more. It's preseason so digging into the teams work assignment will show you where the value is. No trends or motivation will help you here. Ill report back tonight with a proper write up

Ok lets break this Thursday night game a little bit.
Steelers 1-1 so far with Ben putting up pretty good numbers. He will definitely see more playing time in the 3rd game. Running game has been an issue though so I expect to see more running packages for Pittsburgh. Eagles 0-2 but Foles has improved. 8 turnovers are not going to get them any wins. They have a great offense but the defense getting killed and Barkley and Sanchez and the team turning the ball over on offense. Foles will play more and the defense will be tested. Neither teams looked impressive and I usually look to see what type of things each team want to focus on in the preseason. Still undecided on the pick but anymore info would help. Shout to all the twitter people |
