This is my first NBA write up and my first season betting the NBA so bear with me here.
Atlanta -5.5 @ Phoenix Atlanta has gone 1-3 in their 5 game road trip to this point, they should play tough tonight against a below average suns team tonight to get a W before coming home. Lay the points here. San Antonio -8.5 @ Dallas Spurs are coming off of a surprising loss last night to the magic. Coach pop should have his guys ready to play against this banged up Mav's team. Spurs are clearly the better team and they should be fired up going into Dallas, Lay the points. Indiana +7.5 @ Portland Indiana starts a 5 game road trip which includes the clippers and golden state back to back. They will be looking to start the trip off with a W so I expect them to bring it. Take the pacers with the points. Memphis @ Toronto -12 Mike Conley is out up to 6 weeks with an injury. That's a huge problem for Memphis. Points for they average 104 when he plays, 91.1 when he doesn't. Points Against they average 97.5 when he plays, 104.8 when he doesn't. Without Conley I don't think they can keep pace with Toronto's high octane offense. Lay the points. Miami @ Denver -6.5 Miami isn't a very good team and they're also plagued with injuries. They're starting a stretch of their schedule where they will be on the road 6 out of the next 7 games (starting tonight), Denver arguably has the best home court advantage in the league which doesn't make things any easier. Lay the points with Denver. |

Western Kentucky @ LA Tech +2.5
I really like LA Tech here, They always perform well when underdogs and the fact that they're home underdogs make them even more appealing. Will probably take LA tech money line as well. Michigan -26.5 @ Rutgers I don't usually like laying all these points, but I couldn't resist laying them with how poorly the Rutgers have played against Ohio State (58-0) and Washington (48-13) this year. Everyone knows Harbaugh has no problem running up the score, so I'm pretty confident they cover 28+ Toledo -17 @ Eastern Michigan I thought Toledo looked really impressive against BYU last week, their offense could not be stopped. Eastern michigan barely beat a Bowling Green team that is in shambles. Give me Toledos high scoring offense $$$ |

Louisville came out of no where this season and looks to be a top contender. They are 4-0 thus far and have a very explosive offense, but just how explosive is it? Throughout the first 4 games of the season, the teams that Louisville has beaten have NO defense, look at these numbers;
Week 1 - Charlotte 42.3 PA / Rank 122 Week 2 - Syracuse 34.5 PA / Rank 106 Week 3 - Florida State 35 PA / Rank 108 Week 4 - Marshall 41.3 PA / Rank 121 WEEK 5 - CLEMSON 11 PA / Rank 5 Some will argue that Louisville has already proven that they can hang with tier 1 competition by defeating Florida State at home, but it seems that FSU isn't as good as everyone thought they would be with a freshman QB and horrible defense. I am not discounting Lamar jackson but I want to see what he can do against a top ranked defense before I go taking Louisville as a road favorite against another top 5 team. Especially in death valley which has proven to be a very tough place to win. Just some food for thought before you wager that hard earned money, I will probably stay away from this game but I definitely lean towards Clemson here. BOL everyone |

UTEP @ Louisiana Tech -18.5
Louisiana Tech can put up a lot of points and have been a very scrappy team this far into the season, lost 21-20 to a better than expected Arkansas team week 1. I think they cover with ease against UTEP who gives up A LOT of points. In their 3 losses they have allowed 41 points to Texas, 66 to army, and 34 to Southern Missouri. Michigan State -7.5 @ Indiana Michigan state has wins over LSU and Notre Dame that can now be discredited to due the fact that both teams are in shambles right now (ND lost to Duke and LSU just fired les Miles). They are also coming off the blowout Loss to Wisconsin. That being said, the Spartans still have Mark Dantonio, and he is an excellent coach. After an embarrassing loss last week against the badgers I think him and his team bounce back big this week. Although I wish I would've gotten at 7, I thought 7.5 was going to go up so I jumped on it while I could. Wisconsin +10.5 @ Michigan Wisconsin beat LSU week 1 and is coming off a blowout road win against Michigan state that no one saw coming. Their defense has been stout all season but they haven't really faced an offense that has any weapons, that will change this week. Michigan is coming off a blowout victory against Penn state and has proven that they can score points. Their offense has looked great throughout their cakewalk schedule thus far, but I think they will run into some problems this week. This is their first real test and laying 10.5 is way to many points in my mind. Akron -5 @ Kent State Akron has an offense that can put up some points going against a Kent state team that allows a lot of points. I would imagine Kent States morale is pretty low coming off of a 48-0 loss to Alabama, I think Akron rolls through them easy. I would've taken this up to -7. |
