Texas Rangers
-The Rangers and A's meet for the 1st time in the 2010 season with a 3-game series.  Texas went 8-11 versus Oakland in 2009, after going 32-25 from 2006-08.
-Team allowed just one unearned run in the final 17 innings of the Seattle series and issued just 4 runs/3 earned in 32 innings in the 3 games versus the Mariners, to lower the season ERA from 3.92 to 3.48.
-Texas has won 4 consecutive road games since losing in Boston on April 21.  One of only 7 AL clubs iwth a .500 or better road record in 2010, the only AL West team.
-Compiled a 3-6 mark in games facing a left-handed starter.
-The Rangers have had a lead at some point in 23 of 25 games this season.  The club's 10 losses in games with lead match Baltimore for most in the Majors.
-SP Rich Harden has gone 18-9 with a 2.98 ERA in 49 career games at Oakland-Alameda County Stadium.  The right-hander is making his 3rd road start of the 2010 season, going 0-1 with a 5.59 ERA.
-Over the last 3 seasons, Harden has gone 11-5 with a 2.47 ERA over 23 road starts, which currently stands as the lowest road ERA in the majors over that span.

Baltimore Orioles

-The Orioles have dropped 11 of their last 13 games at Yankee Stadium and are 4-20 in their last 24 road games overall.

-New York leads the season series, 1-2.  The Birds lost the season series, 5-13, in 2009, as the Orioles were 3-6 in Baltimore and 2-7 in the Bronx.

-Baltimore starters have made 11 quality starts in 25 games this year.  In 2009, starters didn't make their 12th quality start until the 49th game of the year (May 29).

-After going 1-6 in their first 7 one-run games, the Birds have won 4-straight one-run games. 

-RP Jason Berken is tied with Texas' Neftali Feliz for the AL lead in lowest opponents' batting average against lefties (Min 20AB) at .083.

-SP Jeremy Guthrie is mired in a career-high 7-game losing streak, with his last win coming on 9/6/09.  The right-hander has received a total of 13 runs of support in his 5 starts.

Detroit Tigers

-The Tigers defeated the Angels 5-1 on Sunday afternoon, completing a 3-game sweep of the club and extending their win streak to 5 games.  SP Justin Verlander fanned 7 batters and limited the Angels to 1 run over 8.1 innings.

-OF Magglio Ordonez is hitting .489 (22-for-45) with 2 HR and 10 RBI in his career against Minnesota SP Scott Baker.  He leads all active players in average with at least 20 at-bats against him.

-OF Austin Jackson has reached base safely in each of his past 20 games dating back to April 11.  During the 20-game stretch, he is hitting  .395 with a HR and 5RBI.

-SP Max Scherzer is making his 4th start of the season on the road, as he's 1-0 with a 2.37 ERA in his previous 3 outings.  The right-hander has limited right-handed batters to a .227 batting average in his career.

-Kansas City SP Zack Greinke only went to a 2-0 count once all day.  He retired all 8 leadoff men he faced.  The right-hander has yielded just 3 runs over 22 innings in his last 3 starts.
-Atlanta outscored the Astros 21-4 in their first 3-game sweep of Houston since 2003.
-Orioles 3B Miguel Tejada has 7 multi-hit games in his last 10.
-Baltimore has 7 wins on the season with 4 of them coming versus the Red Sox.  IT was the 1st sweep of a 3-game sereies or more since the Orioles took all 4 games of a July 1998 series.
-Minnesota C Wilson Ramos is the 21st player and 1st catcher in the modern era to record four hits in his MLB debut.
-Twins SP Francisco Liriano (4-0) was 11-17 with a 5.12 ERA the past 2 years, but has a 1.50 ERA this season.
-Cleveland OF Austin Kearns is 14-for-34 with 11RBIs over his last 8 games.
-Detroit SP Justin Verlander threw 71.7 percent of his pitches for strikes and 62.5 percent of his pitches in the strike zone.  He retired the leadoff batter in each inning.
-The Tigers have won a season-high 5 straight  games and improved to 9-3 at home.
-The Angels were swept in a 3-game series at Detroit for the 1st time since 1996.  They had won 10 of 15 after a 2-6 start.

-The Yankees set a season-high for runs (12) and hits (16) in Sunday's victory.

-Toronto SS Alex Gonzalez hit his 8th home run of the year on Sunday.  He hit 8 home runs in 291 at-bats last season.
-Florida Marlins outscored the Nationals 16-4 and out-hit them 23-10 in the last 2 games of the series.
