I believe Navy has regressed and Memphis is the same as last year, not much changes as Memphis pulls away 2nd half

Today is a great day, we got our feet wet last week, with week 0, but today is the true kickoff to the football season! 1-0 currently with Notre Dame flying past the number against the Middies 

Thursday Night Plays: 

Utah -4.5 

Give me the Utes at home in this one, they owe those Gators for last years game and Utah is a different team at home. Graham Mertz is far from the answer in Gainesville and I would gladly take Cam Reising over him any day of the week! The House will be load, the game will be watched by everyone, and the Utes will come out firing and win by atleast a TD in my opinion 

Nebraska +7 

Minnesota has never really been an offensive juggernaut and now they are replacing their key offensive pieces at QB and RB, they do have a solid defense coming back, and that’s the only thing that makes me hesitant, as defenses are normally ahead of the offense in week 1, but I think Sims has the ability to be the X factor in what is sure to be a ruckus stadium after all the volleyball game excitement last night in the town, and I give Rhule the edge in the Coaching category and I see the Huskers covering and having a chance to win it at the end

I mean it’s week 1 so I’m not gonna say that, but seems ND has had time to prepare and Navy isn’t changing much and if they are throwing the ball more, do they have the guys to do it? Idk I wanna watch some football already that matters!

First Play of the new season: -20.5 Notre Dame 220 to win 200 

Lots of excitement in South Bend with the new gun slinger in town! Sam Hartman is 24 with boat loads of experience, but has some young receivers and a Va Tech transfer….when you have inexperienced receivers having an experienced QB matters. 

I like that this is a spot for Notre Dame where they have had all summer to prepare for the type of offense Navy brings, that is huge when facing a triple option type scheme. What makes these offenses harder to contain is when you only have a 4-5 days to prepare for it week by week. That is a huge disadvantage for Navy that is normally an advantage for them. When you have a roster full of better athletes, and time to prepare for a “different” offense, it gives the defense an advantage. Add in the new rules and take away of chop blocks and that slows down an offense trying to run this type of scheme in my opinion 

Take the Irish, who absolutely dominated this game last season, in the middle of the season, took their foot off the gas in the second half, and allowed Navy to make it close, don’t see that happening again, atleast offensively after Freeman brought it up this weekend…they will keep firing and try to set Hartman up as a Heisman contender

Penn was up at halftime in first meeting

Lobos in a serious slump, PG has been out and is questionable and Lobos defense has been bad, Lobos are 4-4 against SJSU including 3 of the 4 loses at SJSU home court

Give me Spartans by a bucket to cover fairly easy

 Love this play, from Albuquerque and the Lobos are struggling right now, and their best player Jaelen House has been sidelined and is a game time decision in this game as well with a Hammy, which for a PG who is all gas no brakes, is a problem! Also the Lobos don’t win at SJSU historically

Curious if anyone has opinions on this game, not big time familiar with either team but looking at the numbers it seems that Richmond has owned the series H2H recently, but this version of the Spiders doesn’t play very well on the road, we got a basic Pick ‘Em spread and it seems UMASS is in shambles and hasn’t even pieced together 2 wins in a row this season….

Ton of games to sort through today but the first one I am on is:

Alabama -12 

They beat this Miss St team at their house by 11, and Alabama is now returning home as the #2 team in the country! They have won their home SEC games by 40, 26, and 22 points, so by an average of 29, this Alabama team is good and can score the rock, they win and cover the 12 in my opinion

Give me Nevada ML 155 to win 100

Lobos are playing great this year at 18-2 with those 2 losses being head scratchers against UNLV and Fresno, 1 at home and 1 on the road. 

Nevada has had the Lobos number the past few seasons as the Lobos were rebuilding, this isn’t a rebuilding year by any means so I expect a close game which I why I went with the ML 

Nevada wins tonight, Lobos will protect home court when they come back to the PIT

Adding:

Iowa State finds themselves in a tie for the top spot in the Big 12 Conference, which I believe may be the toughest conference in the country, playing on the road against a team they should beat…Road Games are always tough in conference, but some of them you should just win as the better team, I think their is a lot of value in taking Iowa St as a pick ‘em 

Better defensive team, better offensive team, and much better at protecting the ball, and a team that is winning on the road in conference
