lol...i caught that and sorry about the math. i meant that the Spurs could get to 113 as the Indiana D is pretty terrible. but if you like the UNDER, go for it. remember i don't play the games, only provide numbers and info. in the end, if you win I'm happy :)

i think texas tech is dropping too many points, but Colorado is really not good, even worse on the road. there have been relatively few wagers on Colorado so we (Vegas) are not expecting to have much late action come in on the Bufs, meaning we'll be on that side. the RED RAIDERS have covered 4 of the last 6 between these two teams but I'd be worried only about a late cover considering TTech shoots FT's at less than 70% as a team.
but personally i have no strong leans either way, just stating the facts. hope it helps.

One game stood out last night when we released the opening lines and it still does, and that's the Sacramento Kings (+9) at Denver. Denver is coming off a hard fought battle, had to travel back home where they play in rarified air, and face off against a Kings squad which, in my opinion, matches up well. Overall wagering on this inauguration day is brisk, so not much line movement but sometimes that's best. The road team is 8-0-1 in the past 9 between these two teams and the underdog is 7-1-1. Both trends heavily point to the Kings, who are starting to play a bit better after a horrendous start and terrible stretch. They're a long shot to win, but based on all the trends and facts, I think a pretty good shot to cover.
I also think that the game between SA and IND goes over the 208 spread. The Spurs seem to put up serious points at home against bad defenses and Indiana is capable of at least tallying 95. That would mean in order to cover the Spurs would have to drop in 103, a number i think if they have any shot of winning the game, they'll easily top. The OVER is 11-1 in the past 12 matchups and 5-1 in the past 6 played in San Antonio. Again, the trends are encouraging and the play seems sound. That's it for right now, not sure about the college slate, loads of teams that might be ripe for letdowns while I do see some obvious blowouts on the way. As always, good luck to all.....

i can say early on i really love the Kings at Denver with the Nuggets having to travel, play back to back games in the air they play with in Denver, and dropping a lot of points to an improving Kings team that I think matches up well with Denver.

money is split out here....ben wallace might not play, ilgauskas and west are out, and the cavs are on the road in LA. just saying to consider all the facts before wagering. i have no specific idea as to what will take shape, but it does seem that I'm a Lakers fan.

college basketball take Cincinnati and the points (6.5) as the road team and underdog has performed exceptionally well not to mention the public is not really taking a hard look at this game, which is what makes it a bit of a gem.

First off, please remember most of these are NOT picks, just plays based on information. I hate losing b/c i know some of you tail the plays and they have, for the most part, been $$$$. Especially in the NBA where I am now posting.
Loads of wagers streaming in and the public has hammered Houston, S.A., and Detroit. Two of the aforementioned 3 have NOT covered. So play as you might but sometimes you just have to realize that certain teams have problems and the Detroit Pistons are one of those teams. They might cover the short spread and have covered 3 of the last 4 played between these teams, but come on Pistons. They just lost to OKC and now the public is laying heavy money on them??? I don't get it. LOVE the over in the Boston and Phoenix game. The Celtics can score and I think that the Suns will try and run and gun on them. I think this game easily goes by the number. Not to mention they have played the OVER trend so it fits into a logical play. Have one play later, lets' see how these go....as always, good luck to all.

So, a half hour before game time and I have a chance to post as usual. Here are some of the observations I've come across.
The Eagles are getting little to no love in a matchup where they are 7-2 ATS in the past 9 including a thumping earlier this year. But i really discount this a bit b/c Arizona has been putrid for years, and this year's contest was the only one to speak of. What I do look towards is the experience that Philadelphia has and the lack thereof from Arizona. But keep in mind, the Red Bird Express does have a leader in Kurt Warner who not only has playoff experience, but experience winning the whole thing. Confidence plays a big part in this matchup as does home field. I think Philly is more confident but Arizona is at home. I know most of you are split as to which side to take, but even with some heavy late action on ARI, i think they have the weapons and fire power to get it done. But I see Philadelphia finding a way to win this game, and the short line should help those of you willing to go with the Favorite profit. On the AFC side.....EVERYONE loves the Steelers. Every capper on this board, the heavy late action, all Pittsburgh. The only money we're getting on BAL is heavy, large wagers. The line is set at 6, a number usually reserved for taking the underdog (as is 3 and 13). Both earlier contests have been decided by 7 points TOTAL! So why all the action on Pittsburgh? Because they are at home? Because Baltimore is tired? Let's not forget, the Ravens have been in this precarious position in 2000, though they never did play 18 straight games. But somewhere inside me something is telling me to go with my gut. And my gut tells me there will be a lot of bewildered Steeler backers and Pitt will be 0-3 in Divisional Finals played at Heinz Field. I think Flacco makes history, and stuns the public as the Ravens roll and the turnovers continue. Bal 21-17 on a late touchdown BAL's way this time...

i don't like the steelers but i think you have to bet them looking at your avatar.
yeah, about yesterday, not only was MSU terrible at FT's, but they had the ball with 12 seconds left only to have the refs NOT call the foul Illinois was trying to commit and so there was no chance to even push the game. and Boise St. loses by one point so I'm truly sorry for that play. should have never added the plays and just sat at .500. anyways, my feeling is that there's so much action in the NFL certain games go unnoticed. i personally dont see how Illinois St. doesn't cover versus Missouri St. just a pretty big mismatch in my humble opinion.

anytime you can get the #1 team in the country catching points and most people wagering on them losing, you have a good shot at profiting. that's what i've always said....

I have a few moments now so I'll just post what i think on here at this moment.
Boise St (+13) pretty much screwed us the other night against Nevada but i see a much better showing tonight against Utah St. True, the Aggies are playing great basketball but Boise St. is more than capable of not only keeping the contest close, but outright winning it. The money is pretty split so this is strictly a trend play. Boise St. is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings, the road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4, and the underdog is 4-0 in the last 4. I like the Broncos here. In the NBA where i find the capping a bit easier, I would be all over NYK. tonight vs. PHI. The home team is 20-6 in the last 26 and that's a pretty good pool to draw from. Additionally, Philly is 2-10 in the last 12 in New York and this has not been against any sort of competitive Knick squads. I think the Knicks play better tonight and grab the victory. If i have any more, I'll let you guys know. I think Davidson is going to get the W and cover as well. We'll see about the rest....

solid play Dking...didn't actually realize how terrible Iowa State was until the second half of todays game where they shot something like 25% for the half....i think some new coaches might be in line for that program.
anyways, hope Davidson hits and I think that MSU should cover the number too. will be back with some additional games as well.

This is NO WAY means i like Arizona tomorrow or Louisville today so please don't get confused. Incidentally, I also have very little time, missed the play on NORTHERN IOWA b/c i got drunk last night, and so there will be limited write-ups. Which most of you should be used to anyways from other cappers on the site.
Davidson (-12): Not very worried here. They seem to play extremely well at Georgia Southern and won this game here by 20 points last year. They're 8-2 ATS in the last 10 and i think have way too many playmakers for GSOU. IOWA ST (+16): I know Missouri is a tough place to play but really not 16 points tough. It's a conference game in which the underdog/IOWA ST has owned the ATS the record. I'd take these points any day of the week. Michigan St (-7.5): They're playing extremely solid basketball, get back home after being on the road, and play an Illini team that they do quite well against. They've covered 4 of the last 5 against Illinois in the series and the lone loss was on the road. Nebraska (-1.5): They're at home, barely dropping points, and playing a mediocre Kansas St. team that rarely shows in Nebraska. Amidst a heavy card i think this is an easy one. Ok, well that's about it for right now. I can't even think straight but these seem to be what i've uncovered from a heavy, heavy card. Don't get carried away, stay disciplined, and you'll end up winning today and into tomorrow. As always, good luck to all......

Well if the Hawks could have hit FT's they might have actually made me look good. And if i could have gotten to a computer in time i could have made myself look even better by telling you guys to load up on Philadelphia. Either way, positive night and great outcome.
Brace up for tomorrow....i HATE losing :(. Guess 2-1 is not losing though. |

again, see one of my above replies to the Rasheed Wallace comment. i could care less who plays in most of these games. it's the NBA and the talent level is the highest, so there's not usually a major dropoff or jump either way. i told him i still stick by OKC to win and cover tonight even with Rasheed. it takes a few games to get the camaraderie of the starting 5 so i hope jackson starts tonight.
i think Atlanta will win the game and also go over in an entertaining game....am i always right, of course not. but just my thoughts based on what i know.

i do....just too many scorers on the floor and the Lakers have been an over machine at home of late. not to mention the Magic push the ball up these days. i don't think the Lakers can go mano-a-mano with the Magic D and hope to win. so they have to try and outscore them and, consequently, out run them.
but that's just what i think....
