I think that was my worst score in 4 seasons!

I was talking to some people who followed my previous log and they pointed out that they were not interested in season long bets but were more interested in a tip that they can add into an accumulator for that week so I will be sticking to bets that will be settled quickly.
They also pointed out that for a betting log it is more entertaining for the reader to see an objective and to show monetary amounts for the bets to see the progress of the log bet by bet. I will take this and work on a structure for a betting log that will be more entertaining, and profitable. At the moment I am thinking of running a betting log that will target the biggest bookmaker in Ireland as they like to show they have a sense of humour and more importantly I can place the bets in their shops which gets around the problem of having the online account limited. I will be back soon when I have a definite structure and a good tip to share. In the meantime, good luck. |

I'll kick off the thread with some season long bets in the English Premier League and one for the remainder of this month.
Sky Bet have given some generous odds in the season long betting markets in the hopes of attracting new customers at the start of the season so of course we will take advantage of that from the new owners - welcome to the game lads. For starters I'm looking at the relegation market and the bookies have Norwich, Watford and Sunderland as the favourites to go down but they must not have been watching the transfer market never mind the opening weekend! They are mistakenly basing their opinion on teams form last season in the championship. Norwich made 10 transfers in the summer while Watford made 15 transfers and they are of a very high quality for a promoted team. Etienne Capoute has arrived from Tottenham (£6m), Jose Jurado from Spartak Moscow (£6m), Valon Behrami from Hamburg (£3m) while Matej Vydra has been captured from Udinese (£6m) and even he will struggle to dislodge the fantastic front two of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney who has scored at least 20 goals in each of the last 3 seasons. Recommended Bet: Bournemouth To Finish Bottom @ 6.5 (Sky Bet) Next I'll Look at the other end of the table and for the moment I can't split Chelsea and Man City and I think again it will be a two horse race. Man Utd are lacking pace and penetration and Rooney has gone past his peak and there is currently nobody of a high enough quality in the squad to back him up. Arsenal will dominate possession in the majority of games this season but they lack a striker with a good work rate and they will play very narrow this season from what I have seen so far and teams with a compact defence will be able to reduce them to a handful of shots on target so they will drop points this season with a few 1-1 draws. Tottenham have the same problem again, they looked poor going forward against Utd and their defence has remained their weak spot. I see them struggling to get a run of wins away from home which Chelsea are very good at doing. Liverpool are once again very much a team in transition and this won't be their year. Recommended Bet: Chelsea / Man City 'Dual Forecast' @ 3.25 (Sky Bet) I would worry for the traders in Sky Bet with this one. They have gotten the odds exceptionally wrong with the market "Bottom 3 on 1st September 2015". The two that are stand out candidates at this stage are West Brom who have more than a fair chance of having no points at the end of the month and Norwich who conceded 3 goals at home to Crystal Palace on the opening day and have a couple of tricky away fixtures where they might be able to nick 1 point in total. I would be amazed if one is not in the bottom and more than likely both will be propping up the table. Recommended Bets: (1) Norwich To Be In The Bottom 3 on 1st September 2015 @ 2.1 (Sky Bet) - (2) West Brom To Be In The Bottom 3 on 1st September 2015 @ 2.1 (Sky Bet) |

Did you spot any surprise packages? Overall I think Swansea will do well this year but I'm not convinced by Gomis.

Poor opening gameweek where I was lucky to break the 40 point mark... Good news is that i have a lot of different players to the league leader who also used his bench boost on the first week so he might not be around for the full season...
Anybody played their wildcard yet? |

There is an app in the Play Store but you have to pay for it and the reviews are very bad.
The website on a mobile is decent enough cosidering that most of the time you will be just checking your score with 1 or 2 transfers each gameweek.

Of the premium attacking players , considering injuries and fixtures, it looks like Hazard, Walcott and Rooney may be the best three in that price bracket to start the season.

Hello Folks. Hope everyone had a good summer. As the Premier League kicks off this weekend I will be back with a new thread which will once again focus primarily on the Premier League but I will add in some bets from various other leagues and sports throughout the year.
The last thread went very well with these final stats: Strike rate: 89% Level Stakes Profit: 3.96 Level Stakes ROI: 43.9% I will be compiling a database of stats and team strategies before sharing my first tip but it is good to be back and remember to bet responsibly and lets take the bookies money gradually over the season. |

After the season starts this weekend you will be able to see your ranking in the league the day after the last game of that week. The scores for each player will be updated about 10 minutes after they do something that changes their points so can make the weekend games more interesting especially in some games that you wouldn't care about otherwise.

Trying to decide between having a Rooney/Costa/Aguero or a top quality defence and 3 mid range strikers that can be rotated in a 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 formation.

A new signing by Stoke that might have slipped by without being noticed is Stokes signing of Ibrahim Afellay from Barcelona. Once one of Europes brightest prospects he didn't get much game time at Barca and spent last season on loan at Olympiacos. The 29 year old attacking winger loves to dribble past opponents and cut inside where he can potentially rack up a lot of points. He is not the most defensively minded player and if he starts could reduce the number of clean sheets Stoke will get. Potentially a bargain at 5.5.

I have set up a private league on fantasy.premierleague.com that anyone can join. To make things more interesting I will give a Premier League jersey to the winner of the league. Private League Code: 461204-116154 Link to join automatically: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/my-leagues/116154/join/?autojoin-code=461204-116154 The trick is choosing between Aguero, Kane, Costa, Hazard and Sanchez. What is your cheap surprise package this season?

For example someone tipping Golden State Warriors to win quarter 4 in Game 4 of the NBA finals @ 9/10, 1.9, -900 is great but they should offer up some reasoning.
They might win, they might lose on any given day but its more their reasoning that determines if their tips should be followed. If their reasoning is solid they over 100 bets they should be profitable combined with a good bankroll strategy or level stakes is my favorite measure.

I have been looking through the forum and there are a lot of quality posters here. I specialise in football, primarily the English Premier League and Championship so I focus more on posts relating to these leagues. I would be interested to read more posts from posters whose expertise lie in other areas and who have been posting on the forum for a while who giving good reasoning behind their selections and who at least appear to be profitable. So folks, who would you recommend as the top tipster on the forum?

Now that the Premier League season is finished I won't be posting any more tips in this thread. Hopefully a few people made some money from my tips along the way and I will be back next season with a slightly different approach. Thread Stats: Strike rate: 89% Level Stakes Profit: 3.96 Level Stakes ROI: 43.9% In other words if you bet £100 on each of my tips you would have made a profit of £396. Have a good summer folks and if you are looking for a bet for the Champions League final I would recommend Barcelona to score exactly 2 or 3 goals @ 2.1 with Ladbrokes.

Unfortunately Leicester nicked an undeserved winner 4 minutes from the end of the game to put up the first loss, it was inevitable and a good example of why bankroll management is as important if not more so than picking value bets.
Newcastle v Tottenham Betting Preview: Newcastle come into this game with 9 players unavailable through injuries and suspension and they are in a bad run having lost their last 5 Premier League games and they have failed to score in 5 of their last 7 league games and they appeared to have given up on their season in their last game against Liverpool where influential midfielder Sissoko was sent off and is suspended for this game. Tottenham are not in great form themselves and put in a poor performance last time out against Villa with a makeshift defense struggling to deal with the power and positioning of Benteke but they don't have that same threat to deal with against a toothless Newcastle who are also missing their most creative player and have little to play for mainly due to the poor performances of the teams below them. Dier and Vertonghen return to Tottenhams defence which will make them much harder to break down and a single goal from the in form Harry Kane could settle this. We will play this a bit safer with the draw no bet market as the season is starting to wind down for both of these teams and their motivation levels are questionable. Recommended Bet: Tottenham To Win 'Draw No Bet' @ 1.67 Bet365 |

Leicester v West Ham Betting Preview West Ham are coming up against a Leicester side who are woefully out of form and looking to almost certainly be relegated. Leicester have failed to score in their last 3 home matches in the Premier League while only having 1 win in their last 10 home league games. Leicester have scored just three goals in their last nine Premier League games at the King Power Stadium and have gone five hours and 15 minutes since they lasted netted in front of their own fans. On the flip side West Ham are not great for the win away from home and they have struggled to keep clean sheets but they have the better midfield and they will battle Leicester who have gone for an attacking lineup without someone to pull the strings in midfield and control the game where West Ham have Downing to keep Leicester pinned back and punish them on the counter attack supported by Kouyate who returns to his usual midfield position. The odds are simply too big on West Ham due to their away stats but the matchup is more in favour of West Ham than the bookies are suggesting and there is a decent bit of value available. Recommended Bet: West Ham To Win Or Draw Double Chance - 1.73 Bet365 |
