What NBA team calls a :20 second timeout down 6 points with 5 seconds left and doesn't even pretend to attempt a 3 pointer ?
Then he scores with what looked like no time left to cover the number. That might be one of the top 3 beats of the year |

You can learn from history or you can get crushed by it... How about Texas vs. USC in the Nat Champ game? No one could beat Leinhart and Bush, right? But if you Saints people are interested, I have some Groupon stock for you to buy! The saints aren't the 1990's Bills. They are SuperBowl Champions. If I am trying to talk myself into plays by referencing a game played between 2 different teams 21 years ago no less then that's a play I shouldn't be on. The 49ers can win if the Saints turn the ball over 3 times and Alex Smith plays lights out. That could happen but, I wouldn't bet on it. |

Saints have won 17 times vs 6 losses SU on the road over the last 3 seasons.
They are hard to beat on the road or at home. The losses people talk the most about were at Seattle last year in the Playoffs and they played with their 4th string running back and the Rams game this year were they admittidly weren't as prepared or motivated as they should have been. Neither injuries or motivation will be an issue at San Fran next weekend. I guess my point is that there has to be a better play to unload on than betting against this team right now. |

Saints -3 is a gift
The media will be talking up the "Saints can't play on grass.../away" all week long and people will buy the 49ers at home. Reality is that the Saints had their 1st,2nd and 3rd team running backs on the IR last year at Seattle. The Bears NFC Championship game in 06 is equally worthless when evaluating this game. The Saints get Lance Moore back next week and they are as healthy as they have been in years heading into Frisco. Alex Smith will have to play lights out for Frisco to be in this game for 4 quarters. He did in last years' regular season match up vs New Orleans that was played at the Stick. On a side note I remember watching the 49ers/Saints pre-season game where the Saints sacked Smith 6 times in the first half and hit him so hard I feared for his safety. Saints 34 49ers 17 |
