I only posted this to point out how stressful gambling can be...especially when your losing and it's on credit. Things got out of hand and I continued to dig and dig and dig as far as I could go. Technically I could make a deeper hole if I wanted but there is no point. It feels like I would be climbing Everest. Need to look at sports betting like a business. No business can survive if your not making a profit. For those of you who enjoy betting on games but find this not to be profitable....maybe you too will think about if there is something better to do with your hard earned money. I know winning on a bet is a great feeling but losing is so easy too.

I had $500 max bets and was able to bet some games multiple ways
I would set alerts on my ESPN/YAHOO apps for all score updates and would sometimes be taking a shower while while the game live on my TV app....it was out of control Sometimes the games would be so late that I would stay up wayyyy too late or I'll be checking scores at 2am There was also day games for MLB especially were I'll be down over 1,000 before the workday was over. I don't make anywhere near 1,000 a day at work so no reason I should be doing that. While sports betting is very addictive and I don't like to lose...it's so crazy how the swings are and if you bet on everything like I did your guaranteed to lose. I'm just glad I closed my account and I have no access to another bookie. I can be lazy and just watch tv and now constantly be checking my iphone every 2 minutes for score updates

They extended me over $5,000 credit per week sometimes. The worse I have done was go from up $8,900 to down -$6,000 in 1 week I think if I managed to keep that profit I would still be going to this day. I kept convincing myself I could win some of it back but it just kept getting worse and worse.

Due to an online bookie giving me way too much credit over the past 6-12 months I've managed to place bets every day for the past year or so.
Now that I've finally gone broke and closed my account for 2 weeks I must admit my life feels so much better not having to sweat every mlb nba soccor NFL game. I was out of control losing probably more than 20,000 in the past year For anyone still reading this thread. I recommend you try taking 1 week off from gambling and just see how it feels. The stress and agreviation is gone. The true degerates might say I can't take one week off bc I'll miss out on some great lines but if that's the case your just as addicted as me Do I miss gambling? Of course I do. Do I miss the stress? Hell no Took me a really long time to realize you can't win long term in sports betting but it's so entertaining and addicting that we lose sight of the fact that it's so unpredictable I hope that at least one person reads this and possible reconsiders that next bet Good luck |
