Hello Fellow Cappers . This is my first time posting on this forum. Below are my picks for DelMar Opening Day. Good Luck to everyone !!
Race 1: Win on #2 - He is the most consistent horse in this field and is on the class drop. I see him winning by at least two lengths. Very deserving favorite. Race 2: Win on #2 + 11/2 exacta - I will try to beat both favorites (3+6) in not the best current form. Stored Attaq ran well to finish 2nd and is adding blinkers. Birthday Surprise should be in the mix with class drop and surface change. Race 3: Win on #5 + 4/5 exacta - Biorhythm seems to run well on any surface vs. #1 only liking turf. My happy face is coming off a layoff and will need to be fit to compete with Bio. If she is fit enough she will win. Race 4: Win on #12 + 13/12 exacta - Not going to back a favorite that finish 7th in his last race (#3). Rather go with a horse on the up swing (#12). Also, I can see #13 coming off a layoff a more stronger horse. Race 5: Win on #1 + 7/1 exacta - I see fast pace here with horse #5, 6, 9, and 11 all trying to get the lead. It sets up well for #1 who happens to have the best last beyer figure. Group 3 2nd place finisher # 7 can make noise in this race. Race 6: Win on #8 + 4/8 - None of the horse that have raced from this group stands out so ill pick a first timer. #8 has been working great + good jockey. Race 7: Win on #4 + 8/4 - Vulnerable favorite #6 has not proven over 6-1/2 furlongs. Will go with improving horse # 4. #8 is racing 2nd time off layoff should improve with added distance. Race 8: BET of the DAY Win on 1 (biggg) + 9/1 - #1 steadied last time out and should have won the race. #9 coming back from mini vacation should be ready to run. Race 9: Win on # 4 + 6/4 - #4 is the most consistent horse in this field. I see #6 improving from a surface change. Race 10: Win on # 7 + 1/7 - Favorite #9 has not been see for a year and is in for a tag for the first time in his career (equals vulnerable favorite). #7 just needs to run his race and he wins. #1 can win off layoff and first time on delmar turf. |
