Nations over 68 minus 4 cents at Pinn. This just seems absurd. The team added Guillen and Vinnie for new pop. Vidro says he is all the way back . Team has Armas, Ohkra and Day back healthy this year along with staff ace Livian and new add on Loaiza They finally have a Home. This team has been suffering with absurd unending road trips. No home support and terrible health problems and they still won 67 games last year. I need 2 more games! My opinon on the divison is Mets more inproved then people will accept and Florida also quite real. Phils and Atlanta||thumbs_down.gif' border=0> but my bet really is independentof that. I think the Nations will be a Solid team and blow past this number easily. GL

Tough one...That pitching lineup is not bad, but risky. I think it all comes down to this. Their hitting is not good even with the additions. It is good that they finally have a home and that should make a little difference, hopefully for your bet in winning the close home games.
Problem is the pitching.
Their returning staff goes on the DL a lot. They are all slightly above average I believe, but can they stay healthy (truthfully have no idea who would fill in if they go down, that would be a good thing to check out).
Loaiza is so unpredictable. He had a cy young year 2 yrs ago, but before was pretty bad. I believe last year he was hurt also? Not positive.
I dunno, i think i would take the over also, but i think its a tougher call than you are thinking. So many unknown factors.

John Patterson. Jon Rauch and Claudio Vargas are all reasonable backup starters with Rauch who at 6 ft 11 inches is taller than Randy my personal favorite. I actually do not think there are a lot of unknows here. The only problem is that they get to hold your money so longer in this like most future bets. Since I actually believe this team will play with a real passion and most likely hit 80 wins I am willing to accept that. I currently am planning to bet them a lot in the underdog roll this season as well as fading Atlanta where I am hearing Chipper is more interested in women than baseball now and Andrew has reported in over 30 pounds over weight. Those things I do not know personally to be true but have read them and many other negatives on Atlanta fan sites. GL

over 68 wins, are you kidding me. i like the nationals. castilla, guzman, guillen, hernandez and if armas is healthy, watch out. they should get more credit than people are giving them. i loved montreal last year, they made me money all the time as huge dogs. i am gonna get in on that bet. ||an_cheers.gif' border=0>

I thought long and hard about this one and I agree with everything you've written. The only problem is the division they're in. They play 74 games against the Mets, Braves, Fish, and Phillies. All of those teams are projected to have winning records. Personally, I think the Mets will bomb, but I've been wrong before.
Looking at their talent I'd have to say they have the makings of a .500 team, with a good possibility of doing even better. Bullpen is extremely underrated. Cordero and Ayala are rock solid and Osuna will help a lot. I also like Brian Schneider. If he keeps improving his offense, he could be an all-star. He could develop into the best catcher in the national league. And if Nick Johnson works out at first, you can move Wilkerson to the outfield and suddenly you've got depth with Terrmel Sledge, Jamie Carroll and Wil Cordero on the bench. This is a far cry from last year's team.
I'll keep thinking about it but I'll probably choose to just fade the Mets instead. Damn schedule! I really like the Phillies and Fish and am wary of Atlanta. They won 90 last year with a seemingly weak team. Adding Hudson could be huge.
