I know. I already have a $50 bet with a guy at work....
Newcastle have 3 of their first 4 away this year, part of the redevelopment of the western grandstand. I sent him the draw and he said 'no way do the Knights win more than one of their first four'.
At that, mind spinning with wagering opportunities, my degenerate intstinct kicked in and I said ' I bet you $50 they win more than one of their first four'.
He accepted, gleefully.
They only need to win two.
They play:
Titans @ the Gold Coast; at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon I may add, what fuckwit scheduled that?
Sharks @ Toyota
Rabbits @ Bluetongue
Manly @ EAS
Now, I'm assuming they beat the Rabbits. That leaves one victory between me and a free $50, not to mention major bragging rights (I happen to be the reigning tipping comp champion in my firm, bunch of twits they are).
So:
They beat the Titans round 1, or;
they roll the Sharks round 2.
They could well do both, but I'd be happy to get it out of the way early and just do you mob at home.

Titans at Skilled Park in round one is going to be a very tough ask for Newcastle. What happened in the back end of last season is going to be a massive motivation for this team to get out of the blocks fast on their home turf.

0-1 start for the Knights mate

Year before, at your home, Corey Patterson was sensationally held up to prevent the winning try.
You hold no fears, Dwight or no Dwight
Early rounds of a season, on a hot Queensland afternoon is a bad spot for most Sydney teams imo.
Both the Knights' wins last season were in prime spots for them, in Newcastle it was a big game and a must win after some poor early results, and in the latter match, well, the Titans had to field a 16 year old halfback nuff said.
The Titans at full strength on a fast track before a home crowd on a hot day, lookout knights !

And that 16 year-old halfback did quite well if I remember correctly.
I am sure he hit it off with all the ladies back at school as well...hahaha.....
That being said, should be a good match but can't look past the Titans at home here. But who knows?

Agree, it will be tough for Newcastle. Unfortunately, I am obliged to talk shit on their behalf.
They stop Prince, they go along way towards winning.
Believe it or not, it is quite warm in this part of the world too

Little value IMO. They'll be scrapping with Manly, Melbourne, New Zealand - possibly St George, Cronulla, Newcastle and the Cowboys for a spot in the 4. Not saying they won't, I'd just like to see something a bit more generous than $2.75

The top 4 faves are MAN / MEL / NZ / SKS
Absolutely no surprise 2 of those 4 missing out.
Other than Briz, the next 4 are NQ, STG, SYD, GC.
It doesn't take much to rationalize Briz beating out 3 of those 4for the top four.
You for that? At the price of $2.85?

Hey, I never claimed to be a bookmaker and never said they couldn't make the 4. All I'm saying is that $2.85 is a bit skinny imo. But for all that, good luck with Brisbane

The caveat with me is I wouldn't make top 4 wagers. I'll do top 8, though. And just consider it as money earning some interest, as opposed to a sporting investment.
