I thought Lewis should have been in the starting side anyway.
Not sure why Wing is there though.
Now watch them bring in Laffranchi as 18th man.

Yep, 13. If they aren't going to pick Waterhouse in the backrow, then I'd have Lewis ahead of Whatpoo and Laffranchi.
He's big, strong, won't miss as many tackles as Whatpoo and can create more than Laffranchi.

I was working within the limitations of the 75 man squad.
I'm all for 4 forwards on the bench - 3 props and a backrower. Wing is a waste of a spot - absolute waste.
Whatmough has bad hands, misses tackles, gives away penalties and goes missing. He's never in my side.
Laffranchi simply hasn't been playing well enough.
I'm a massive fan of Heighnington but, like Hindmarsh and Young, he didn't make the 75 man squad (mid you, neither did Wing I don't think).
If Qld really do start with a backrow of Harrison, Fatty and Johnson, I think NSW can give it to them early. As we've said all along, Origins are won in the front row and if NSW had of picked 5 props there's no reason why they couldn't bash Qld out of it. Farah gives us some impetus out of dummy half and I can't wait to see LEWIS, Creagh and O'Donnell hitting the smaller Qld men on the edges.

It'll be far closer than you think.

um, whatever
game one IS crucial because of the neutral venue.
A win for NSW could set them on track for a huge series upset with game two in Sydney, where they've had QLD's measure.
A win for QLD in game one goes a long way towards shutting the door on NSW because regardless of what happens in game two, they've got the decider at Suncorp clinch it

yeah I see whatcha mean, and yeah it seems like an obvious call but I was just saying that I think this year in particular there's a real lot of importance on the opener.
If NSW steals it in Melbourne I think they're suddenly favourites for the series because Sydney has been a graveyard for QLD.
Given that I don't think there's any way the Blues can win at Suncorp, whoever grabs game one is well on the way imo

I'm with you Jive.
Put it this way. NSW aren't going to win in Suncorp Game 3.
They win in Melbourne (which I think they can) and they go to Sydney with basically a do-or-die game to clinch the series.
They lose in Melbourne - curtains.
HUGE Origin 1
