how often do you have a draw between a team paying money where it would actually be advantageous over a + handicap?
I don't see why this is relevant. To argue that a handicap provides better value than a double chance of a win/half-win for profit in the unlikely event of a draw is an argument of foresight, which if we all had, we'd be winning every bet.
I agree it's probably a rule that benefits the bookies, but only because most bettors are favourite-betting squares. For everyone else, it's a mere rule variance.

the books are smart, they know this and thats why they have it in place. personally i think its pathetic and know if i ever want to do a favs parlay again 365 is the place lol.
What centrebet did is standard industry practice. The event took place, so it must be resulted. A refund only occurs when the listed event did not take place. The league says the match resulted and it was a draw, the book must pay accordingly
Dead heat rules do not favour the book in any way as they have to pay liabilities both ways. Most would prefer to refund money because favs would be a loss, a refund would be in the their favour
Then again, I am dealing with somebody that thinks bet365 is a good book. Bet365 is a good book like McDonalds is fine cuisine
