is a f'n joke. Why do Kiwis put up with the biggest rip off book on the planet?
JAPAN was paying out anywhere from $66 to $100 money line in online books. The NZ TAB odds were $18.
Are you kidding me? Clearly the gov. has it's hand in that agency, there must be serious cash changing hands to allow them to maintain a monopoly over the industry while continuing to take advantage of a foolish public.

two sides to every story...they've had the lines up for every pool match for months, with a bunch of bad lines that i've already exploited...excellent book, with high limits.

Excellent book my a/$/$. Just because they've had the lines up forever does not negate the horrible betting margins they exploit. And if you don't what a betting margin is, you don't know what you're doing.
The best books (Pinnacle, 5dimes) offer a regular matchup at -105 (1.952), the standard is -110 (1.91). TAB's standard is -115 (1.87). With both sides juiced like that, TAB's betting margin is over 8%, Pinnacles 2.5%, the average book is 5%.
If paying $18 ML on Japan versus $66-$100 on other books makes them excellent in your mind then you are little more than a crackhead who will take whatever fix they can get. Sorry mate, there's only one story to the math.

The only advantage like you said is they put the lines up first, but that's only in rugby and you still get shafted big time on the margin.
As far as a heap of WC games with "bad lines" you have exploited, you haven't exploited anything until the games are completed and the wager is a winner.

I got Georgia +37.5 @ $1.87 months ago, what would Georgia +37.5 pay at another book?
I'll exploit a bad line for heavy juice with high limits any day of the week
I have exploited them already, win or lose I've got huge value over the current lines.
Yeah when I want a better price on something I shop around for the best price offshore..no problem, that's all part of the game...shopping around for best lines/price there is, no one book is always going to have the best.

cant speak on the ML for the japan game but there is a very simple reason for the tab's standard juice on spread wagers being much higher than most other books.and that is that gambling is obviously government regulated in new zealand and tab must pay a % in tax back to the government off all their profit.and also they give back big payouts to all of the sports organisations in the country related to the sports they take bets on...surprisingly,the most heavily bet sport over a year at the tab is actually basketball(nba mostly one wud assume) and new zealand basketball benefits massively from the cut of profits that tab hands over...lord knows no-one else will give them a frickin dime despite punching hugely above their weight on the world stage for well over a decade now.....anyhow there is nothing surrepticious or under-handed about it,they have freely admitted it and clarified the reasons behind it...i dont use them personally, unless its a local rugby game that cannot be found anywhere else.
one thing you must have noticed tho is that there are a lot of spots where you can get terrific value at the tab on opponents of both the warriors and the all blacks because they know public here will always heavily back both teams no matter wat(shockingly enuff, given the warriors track record)..so often those odds and spreads are shaded a little and can then move again as public pounds the local team.....often i have seen a warriors game at opening have a 15 cent or more difference in ML between tab and aussie books.

For an American dude apparently living in Sin City.
You know a lot about the shitty NZ TAB and local grassroots rugby, Vegas.
You realize unlike minor league rugby (rugby league), RUGBY is a global sport, fastest growing team sport in the US and it's been on US TV since the 90s.
Not just Aussies and Kiwis understand and play rugby, mate. That's pretty arrogant, it's like me questioning WTF would you know about basketball and the NBA since you're an Aussie

Thanks for the post. I understand their lines can give better value on point spreads but just because they have to pay taxes doesn't justify shafting the public, especially when they have a monopoly. Everybody pays taxes, man!

Those "pokies" are friggin ridiculous. They destroy more people than they supposedly help (percentage goes to local sports teams supposedly blah blah). The payout percentage is worse than a Vegas loan shark

I saw Aussie-style love on that Sydney bus video, some old witch spitting on an asian broad calling her a guy. And here I thought Romper Stomper was non-fiction

Do you know what tax rate Pinnacle pays in Curacao? 0.7%
NZ Tab has to pay in various taxes, licenses and product fees over 5.5% on turnover (not revenue). Huge difference

0.7%? WOW, lucky person. Alright, I hear you but I'm sure those sweaty palms being greased... Incidentally that's 0.7% more in taxes than the NFL pays.
I think maybe emkee was indeed paying me a compliment and I missed it in translation. Now I'm the one who feels like a cnut. Apoligies Mr Emkee
