Obviously NZ are deserved favourites but they have been deserved favourites every World Cup and as we know haven't won since 1987. They are under enormous pressure to perform.
The injuries (particularly to Carter) can only have added to their self doubts.
Unquestionably NZ are the worlds best team yet again. That does not necessarily mean that they will be holding up "Bill" in a couple of weeks time!

Beale would be a considerable loss but the position can be covered. I'd move O'Connor to fullback, Barnes to inside centre & Ashley-Cooper to wing. Looks pretty balanced.
