All I know is what I bet - and what my account reads - and my recordkeeping. It is very hard to post "picks" here - because quite often I get different lines, trade off of wagers, bet HT's, bet arbs etc - so posting winners 24-48 hours in advance is probably not the best way to summarize what I am doing. But that is really all we can do here - but to be fair it is like judging the performance of McDonalds by one of its franchises (maybe not the best example, but I hope you get my drift).
There are certainly times when my picks here do well and I lose money, and times when my picks here do poorly and I make money. It is genuinely hard for me to be as honest and forthright as I can be here in this format - I almost wish I could spend a week or so with people who are interested so they could see exactly what goes down in a week - but thats not really possible either.
So when I make a post like I did above - Im being honest. And its kind of funny because I was making a humble statement about my very modest profit - it was not intended as a brag at all - quite the opposite. I have been here a long time - 10 years this month - so I would like to think Im past trying to make people think Im something that I am not. I have winning seasons, I have losing seasons - I work on very slim margins - I am not a crystal ball handicapper - I had a crazy 15 month soccer run but that is unusual. I bet enough that when I make a small profit percentagewise - it usually works out to be enough money to make a living.
I would like to hear my posted numbers for this year, I honestly dont know what they are. I take your word though if you know they are below .500. Its a funny thing about this site - you are damned if you do and damned if you dont. If I post, people get mad if you lose, and if you win people get mad if you dont post - and then eventually when you lose they get mad as well. For someone like me - there just isnt much of an advantage to posting - other than trying to help people - and like I explained earlier there are times when I think my posts dont help anyone because they dont explain the whole picture.
It does pain me (really does) when I hear that someone follows me or "tails me" and loses. Sometimies, like today, that bothers me more than the sizable amount I lose. I post current lines at the time I post - and try to be as honest as possible. If that isnt good enough, then I suggest you read someone else.
If I had time to calculate all of your plays in NCAAF, NFL, and soccer....I would be embarrassed because that would simply show how depressing my life is.
With that said, I probably care about the opinions of two people on this entire site. You and JasonWhitesKnee. I tend to remember how you do because I check to see what you played, and sometimes it has an effect on the bets I place, sometimes it doesn't.
The majority of the people on this site inflate their records and/or blatant liars. I am not accusing you of doing either, from every thread I ever read of yours, you do not seem like the kind of person who would do that.
But...when something is glaringly obvious to me....and someone says something different, I feel the need to inquire about the subject. For instance, you say your having a profitable soccer season. In Champions League alone you have to be down 20 units...possibly more. Granted, you may have different lines then you post..or you may be making halftime bets, I have no idea. But...from what you posted...I would estimated -20 units in CL or possibly more. As far as the EPL goes...I haven't seen your plays in a couple weeks for that. From what I did see earlier in the season, you were not doing well. I would guess you are down betting on the EPL as well. I guess that was just my biggest issue with you telling people your making money on all these sports this year. I've seen most of the soccer plays you posted. It doesn't seem close to me.
As far as college and pro football...cannot remember most of your plays and/or haven't checked them. From what I remember or from what I've seen....you have been average at best in the NFL...and I really can't come up with an idea with NCAAF because you usually post too many plays to remember. Either way...you haven't been very profitable at all in either league.
If your account is up this year, congrats. I wish I could say the same. But if your going to say your profitable in every sport this year...when your posts on Covers do not support that theory...I feel the need to say something.
As far as reading someone else....no thanks. I know we've talked about this before...there are prob under 5 good gamblers on this site who offer good insight. Everyone else is either lying or just flat out atrocious.
