I never said Bayern was boring, but you probably realised that if you read the next post.... and of course they aren't boring, Heynckess did too much good in his spell there for Pep to *uck it up in 6 months.
And please let's not get ahead of ourselves and start calling them the greatest team ever. Yes they have been very good in the last year and a half, but they have to repeat this a few times before they even get in contention. Let them try Paisley's Liverpool from the late 70's/early 80's with 6 league and 5 European titles in 9 years for size. And this is coming from
Bayern fan.
" And please lets not get ahead of ourselves and start calling them the greatest team ever " .....
Don't put words in my mouth. I said I was hard pressed to find a team in the last 40 to 50 years who are as dominant. Feel free to check out all the records that they have broken, and still breaking. I didn't make up the 49 game undefeated streak etc.......they did that. I'm just stating that the facts bare out my statement.
And please don't tell me that the teams of the 70's were as good as Bayern is today. If you wish to compare eras, perhaps Bayern were the most dominant team of the 70's.......remember those 3 straight European Cups. But it is clear that with the injection of huge capital from Oil sheiks, Russian mobsters etc, the playing field is much bigger then it was 40 to 50 years ago. I give you Chelsea, Man City, PSG, Monaco as just a few examples. And yes sir, you're earlier two posts certainly insinuated that Bayern, under Pep, were playing boring tiki taki football. Not sure that we are watching the same games.

You ask me not to put words in your mouth and yet you casually are doing the same thing. Come on !?
And I don't care about winning streaks or stuff like that, that just marketing material. What counts is how many cups have you won and what was the level of opposition you had to face. Bayern is the only buyers market in Bundesliga. THE ONLY, of course they are killing it after Heynckess made a great set up and there is noone who can even remotely challenge them this season.
And when comparing eras, if we're talking absolutes, everything now wold kill everything then and because teams back then just had waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay smaller pools they got the players from. If you take a look at that from a relative perspective where you adjust for the money and the science etc. Great teams from years past would have set records so high we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
And if you want to stick to the facts, Bayern wasn't the most dominant team in the 70's or 80's. Liverpool was, with 3 great generations bringing home almost 2 cups per yaer on average in that period if I remember correctly. And they were doing this in a time where a the team manager would be sacked if he played his 3rd string team in Europe/domestic cup midweek as there were no "lesser" competitions in those days.

You continue to contradict yourself, saying that Cups are the measure of success, not winning streaks, and then ignore all the Cups that Bayern won during the 70's, and continue to win now. And once again, YOU brought up Liverpool of the 70's, not me. I was merely pointing out how absurd that statement was when comparing the talent pool of today's teams.
I'm assuming you are of English descent, so the bitterness towards German teams is obvious. I will let Bayern do the talking from here on in.

I'm not contradicting anything.. yes how much stuff a club has won is the measure and 70's Bayern didn't win enough to be top dog. And this Bayern has just started winning, so we can't even tal about them in the same sentence.
Regarding my roots, they aren't British or German for that matter, so the bitterness you mentioned exists only in your mind and if you missed it earlier, I said I'm a Bayern fan. However, that doesn't stop me from being objective when looking at the facts.

Objective ?
....." Bayern has just started winning, so we can't even begin to talk about them in the same sentence ".....
Since 2000 ( 13 year period to date )
Won 8 League Titles
Won 7 German Cups
Won 2 Ch League Trophies
Won 2 Super league Cups
In addition to losing in 2 Ch League Finals
Where have you been ? Until all this Bayern trashing, I actually valued your opinions about the Global game. If you are truly a fan, I'm totally stumped. I didn't even get into the 20 plus records that this recent team has set over the past few years. Yes I stand behind my description of " Dominant ". You seem to be one of the only people on this planet that is oblivious to their long and growing list of accomplishments.
And just as an FYI , I'm a huge L iverpool fan, and have been since the 70's. Still, I am not clouded in my judgement, I remain " objective " and let the stats speak for themselves.

Herr Kaiser, once again... I'm not trashing Bayern & can't understand why continue to repeat that. I'm not oblivious to their results, I just don't care about who scored the most goals in a season. And I said THIS Bayern team can't yet be compared with the greats for the simple reason it was put together 2-3 years ago when they brought in Neuer & redesinged the back 4. Do they have the potential to rule the world for the next 5 years at least? Sure they do. Will they? We'll have to wait and see about that.
Now those stats since 2000. are looking juicy indeed, but I'm pretty sure Barca & MU are right up there, neck and neck. Yet, Barca has Real, MU has Chelsea/Arsenal/City/L'pool earlier and Bayern has no one to compete with. Plesae don't be oblivious to that fact. BVB or someone else can have good runs at times but Bayern is the only world class team in the Bundesliga and the only buyers market as I mentioned earlier. So if you have 3 teams with roughly the same results, the best one is the one that had the most difficult road to their respected record and in this case it would be MU.
And since I'm also a Liverpool fan like yourself, you can understand how it hurts saying those words.

I feel like the chemistry amongst OKC isn't 100% now that Westbrook is back. It's going to take a while for OKC to glue together again. Any NCAAB leans/plays today, BB?
