I fully get what you are doing and admire you for doing it.. I'm only 19 and since I started gambling, I haven't been able to stop.
I'm going into third year university and really need to put my shit together and thing about what i'm gonna do with my life. I wish I could have made half the money you did so I can quit and be happy with myself but its tough to quit when ur down..
BOL to.. have a good life

Else, very mature and manly thread started by you by admitting your faults and expressing a desire to focus on more important things in life, like your friends and loved ones.
If you do decide to gamble again, don't be so consumed by it or it will eat at your soul. Best of luck with your decision, and do what makes you truly happy inside.

Else - your thread is very enlightening. I am 33 as well and much of what you describe as your rituals of checking your phone while at family events, acting solemn when a bet does not go your way, describes me as well. I can remember being at an Easter brunch with family and Everton not winning on a HUGE play for me, and I had to go back to my phone multiple times, just checking to see if the result miraculously changed.
I appreciate you coming in here and giving your words of wisdom. They are words to live by and words I will seriously think about myself.
