Striker Emmanuel Adebayor will miss Arsenal`s matchup with Sheffield United on Saturday the team announced on their website.
The Gunners are 1/2 at Sheffield (5/1) with the draw listed at 3/1.
Adebayor strained his thigh near the end of Arsenal`s 2-1 defeat of Watford on Boxing Day. The newest problem is on the opposite leg to an injury the Togolese player suffered earlier in the season.
"It is exactly the same but on the other leg," said manager Arsene Wenger. "He will be out for Saturday."
The newest injury comes at a poor time for shorthanded Arsenal. Captain Thierry Henry is currently out with a hamstring injury and a tight hamstring forced defender Johan Djourou out at Vicarage Road.
Luckily, Djourou`s injury is not considered serious.
“Djourou is injured a little bit but what is worse that we lost Adebayor with a thigh strain,” said Wenger.
Adebayor is third on the team with six league goals this season.
