sent this out to buddies, was asked my thoughts on UCL/Covid. figured Id post it here. its my thread, I can do whatever I want with it just skip this over to the 2nd post if you want just the actual plays.
last week after their match vs Napoli, you guys already know 14 of Genoas players tested positive. hence, the postponement of their match with Torino this wknd. however, Napoli too, was mandated to be tested and as they were waiting for results they werent allowed to have 'formal' practices. they actually had a draft ready to send to our governing body seeking postponent due to this. (assuming the results came back negative). Juventus (actually Turins city Govt council) pretty much stated to Naples 'if any of your players test positive... we dont want you coming). a few just failed the 2nd test last night. now everyone has their opinion on that & Im steering clear of that part of the discussion. but this scenario, makes me realize just how quickly this thing can spread again. and when you look at the UCL/UEL slates, the nations league, (even the Conmebol players flying home) these guys will be criss-crossing all parts of europe the next few months. and this is the part which is a lot more noticeable now. last years UCL was "separated" (forgot the formal word for that) from the domestic seasons. nice and tidy. and this made things somewhat easier for UEFA to manage. this year? there is no such "luxury". and we are talking about 16 matches per week for Groups squeezed between domestics. NO UCL participant will accept not being allowed to practice the days leading up to a match somewhere. Coaches cannot sit there wondering "will my Centre-back or star striker ... heck, why stop there? "half my team" be allowed on the pitch" while trying to gameplan a trip to Anfield or Camp Nou or Paris waiting for test results to come back (and even the other side of that.... what if its their opponents being affected?) theres little wiggle room in these schedules, Serie A ALREADY has 4 games in 10 days in Dec. and im sure others are the same. and greedy UEFA with that tv contract in their pockets going to have a huge logistical problem on its hands. starting to doubt if UCL/UEL is going to finish this season. keeping in mind, Euros. someone jsut mentioned, if used in english it would roughly mean "the sh*t is going to hit the fan again. these are healthy, physically fit humans getting exposed months & months after awareness & guidelines set in place. and not everyone is healthy & physically fit" not exactly a pleasant thought and its starting to make me wonder.

sticking with just A/B. its time for a break, which begins very soon
Serie B: Part 2 of the Draw Festival, the other 10 teams @home now. 7-3 last wknd, already on '+' side, if can squeeze 2 more out of this list ill be content.
Serie A: last round before another stupid Nations League Intl break coming up. for the Conmebol guys? they all have to fly back across the pond for their regions WC Qualifers which start. have had a nice run past few weeks, decided to take a bunch of chances this wknd,
Sassuolo/Crotone - now that everyone is back after being quarantined for their opener; after blowing away Spezia on road last week their offense gets another "tune-up" vs a newly promoted squad before the schedule starts getting tougher. Sass has not been kind when hosting newbies the past few years either going 5-1-0 with 19/5 goal difference. light day for me, going to do a "runner' here for fun as this could/might get ugly. Sass + over 2.5 @-105, over3.5 @215, over 4.5 @+405

Udine/Roma - for some reason Darth Vader loves this trip; and after getting docked 3 pts then blowing the lead vs Juve when they were up a man suddenly makes this an important one for them. 5-0-1L with a 10/2 goals in past 6 trips; and they went 10-1-1 vs the lower half on road last year. Udine on short rest, were cleansheeted at home vs a newbie and havent even found back of net yet this year. not sure why these prices opened so low. Roma to win @-127, and lets toss a little on the -1 @+122
Sunday: Atalanta/Cagliari - this is not going to be a popular play; but most know Im not afraid to take chances if prices are decent enough. Bergamo boys are flying, 8 goals thus far and just THUMPED Lazio in Rome mid-week; found out yesterday that theyre paired with Pool & Ajax and for some crazy they reason seem happy as a pig in a pile of mud about that. they finally get to play in their 'regular' stadium Sunday, and STILL arent even at full-strength as Illic just returned to practice. but this isnt a good spot, short rest & Gasp hinting at making a few changes; and the Island boys, for some reasons which I still cannot figure out, LOVE playing here. won their last 3 visits (including last year as an 800+ dog). theyve actually won 4 of the past 7 meetings, go figure. and Godin finally getting the start, maybe he can mark 4 guys at one time? anyways, giving me '+' money on the 1.5 for an early start time vs an opponent youve beaten 3 straight here? OK, i'll bite. Cagliari +1.5 @+115
Benevento/Bologna - this is pretty much one of those weekly "auto-plays" carrying over from last year. hit this with ease last wknd, Bolognas all-time Serie A record for conceding a goal now stands at 35 (and counting). and one of the reasons I like watching soo many early season matches is you can get a pretty good idea of what a head coach WANTS his team to do for the season. and lets just say with Inzaghi, Beneven will be involved in a lot of high scoring games. RARELY touch this kind of juice, but been having a decent start to the year and its simply a regular play so will take a small glass of it. Benevento/Bologna btts @-154 btts + over 2.5 @-110 (this is hitting just 50% but still worth a shot vs the opponent). over 1.5 each half @+355 (this has hit in both of Benev matches thus far)

Lazio/Inter - have to take a PASS on this one. the opening lines seem to be a knee-jerk reaction to the mid-week THUMPING Atalanta gave Lazio on this pitch. and as good as Inter looks up front, theyve been allowing far too much space back there and giving up far too many chances as they continue to settle in and get that cohesion. last Feb they went off here in the 200s, now in the high 130s and Lazio have beaten them 3 of the past 4 meetings. just not sure about this one.
Parma/Verona - PASS.
upset special: hit this last week with Benev. Milan/Spezia - last week I thought this would be a lucky scheduling break for Milan getting a creampuff. now? not too sure about that. yes, they are at home, and yes, Spezia is a "newbie" & downside is they recently played midweek too on the road + without their suspended captain. and its incredibly difficult in Serie A for anyone to win two consecutive roadies on a short turnaround. But Milan still without Rebic, Romagnoli, and Motor-Mouth. and on top of that, Call & 6 others put in well over 100 minutes on Thursday night. and had to stand around for another half hour in a lovely Portuguese downpour waiting for that PK session to end. they didnt get back till well past midnight. "lucky scheduling" became "nasty spot". Spezia +1.5 @+110, +1/2 @+320 and lets toss some on those 4 digits @+1200. might get my head served back on a platter, but i'd take this spot EVERY TIME no matter whom is playing.
Juventus/Napoli - as mentioned above, this match was (is still) close to being postponed. Napoli been a thorn in our sides the past few years, tho we hold the advantage (5W-1D-4L) its never been easy. Insigne out for them, and Rabiot suspended for us. we just dropped pts last week but dont know what to expect here. at the time im typing this still not even sure if this is going off as scheduled as some of their players failed the 2nd test and put into quarantine. PASS.
EPL: (tailing) this was just sent my way. my only play this wknd is ManCity. Leeds having a nice start, but Peps record after a loss is unreal, and City has proven time & again their ability to bounce back; its silly-crazy, jsut last season alone, after an EPL loss: 8-0, 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, 2-0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 5-0. (and Pool/Chelsea on that list). City have dropped points just ONCE after a loss the last 3 years and all but 1 of those 14 wins were by 2+ goals. several of them were roadies too. but was also advised their backline looks terrible. Taking ManC -2 @+166 for fun, but to protect self taking the btts + 3.5 @+126
have a good wknd and GL to all

Following you on the Roma and Sassuolo play for sure. Udinese was utter garbage last week and they simply just can’t score a goal. I might jinx it now and they probably end up scoring in this game but Roma looked sharp in the first 60 minutes. I just love the attacking power of Sassuolo so took them in some parlays. I do think Juve will get the job done against Napoli can’t see them dropping points twice in a row. The game against Roma must have been a wake up call for Ronaldo en co. I expect a low scoring game anyways.

make, ya know, its still early in the season; Sass sitting near the top and havent really played anyobody yet. but DeZerbi has quietly put together a nice collection of talent to fit his 'bombs away' system. probably wont crack the top 4 but they are going to give everybody a headache.
senk was d*mn fortunate with Roma, Udine cant buy a goal right now so the break comes at a perfect time for them.
doc, can you imagine if Sepp was still in charge? you can just see him saying "huh, 2 games in 3 nights, so??.... whats the problem? but thats a GREAT point you made there, the first wave was never completed. i dont want to think about it, we're still recovering. doing our part with protocls & try to buy everything we need from local businesses (aka family owned). might cost a tad higher but feel its worth it. theyre hurting. im curious what kind of shape Britain is in.
Leggo one of the better starts to a season ive had in some time. usually dont jump in till the 4th-5th round. but its ALREADY October. i guess my internal 'futbol clock' is messed up. Andrea? so far OK. i think what REALLY helps him is the fact he UNDERSTANDS players; because he was one at the highest level. and have their respect. you cant put a price on that. give him time, he'll be OK. and Andrea just got the player he wanted - we pulled it off, and got Chiesa. we'll see how it goes.
AC season is young. might need to borrow that crystal ball later. speaking of Crystal???.... ehhh, never mind. what the heck going on up there in the EPL thus far?
piotr hope all is well and tks fer stopping by. ehhh. yeah, decent week. and I got a free 'education' the other night from someone whom doesnt even post plays. one of those "perks" from being in covers .
yoro, hope everything is going good for you. well done with Benevento. 1-0??? i surely didnt see that one coming

thy first chunk-blowing session concluded yesterday ; but when ur fading 3 clubs expected to lock in CL slots by years end, at least it wasnt suprising (the results). bunch helped a friend repair his deck and was enjoying the fruits of our labor in peace...... had a 4 digit price with a 0-0 scoreline at the half in Milan wondering "maybe"........ but then........ the circus/hurricane arrived. phone blew up. and out comes the rolaids. little did I know when we signed Andrea it was just a mere "warm up" for yesterday. is it possible to be/feel 'burnt out' in October??
