Here's my plays so far. Big Saturday! I'm a sucker for action today. Too many games, most probably, to turn a profit. But let's hope so. Good luck all.
(fade and win)
EPL
Blackburn - Arsenal, early game
Arsenal is not a good side when visiting teams.
Also I think the gunners need to get games into their own flow passing the ball to successfully control the game. Blackburn will give it their all trying to win 2nd and 3rd balls, not holding back with their tackling, trying to avoid the gunners getting comfortable playing the ball here.
It will be a real battle, I think, and the 0-0 score at HT at +218 looks pretty good to me. 1 unit.
Also I think the DRAW/1 goal margin win for Arsenal at -108 is pretty good, 1.25 unit
Blackpool - Fulham
Two of the three promoted teams have won their home games until now. Newcastle impressed everyone and cashed as a +200 underdog when they slaughtered Aston VIlla in their first home game of the season. WBA won a tight game vs an awful away team in Sunderland, and did their job.
Blackpool is the third and last newly promoted team to finally get the chance of playing in front of their fans.
Once again like with N'castle we get the chance to cash them at a nice underdog-price.
Blackpool has looked good in their 2 games, although getting kicked out of the stadium with a 6-0 loss at Arsenal, they didn't try to sit back and defend for 90 minutes. They wanted to attack, but got their asses kicked on the counter with Arsenal's quick paced players.
Blackpool has started off the season good, though, and with 2 away games to start it off - winning one of them and in an impressive manner as well was all they could have dreamed of, and I'm sure they are very happy with the start.
Although favorites to relegation this year, I have to back them in their first game at home. Fulham is not the most dangerous team playing away from home, even though they held United to a 2-2 draw last weekend, but at home, at the price given I have to back home side here at +220 for 1.25 unit.
Chelsea - Stoke
Chelsea is a force. I mean it's getting ridiculous how strong they look as a team. Big, powerful players with pace as well. They did look like a couple of idiots running around when they got out-hustled, out-played, and dominated for the first 30 minutes vs a storming Wigan team trying to avoid yet another embarrasment, though. Before Wigan collapsed after Chelsea scored on their first chance of the game, ruining my 0-0 HT bet. That really sucked as I had 2 units on that bet at nice plus money.
Anyways... I don't see a bet in this game. Chelsea is overpriced after 2 great games, and although they will probably win big I don't want to lay 2.5 goals here. I'm sure I will regret it, though... the damn blues may just as well win with 3+ goals.
Tottenham - Wigan
Gareth Bale, Gareth Bale, Bale, Bale, Bale.
Bale to score at +250 1.5 unit.
Bale, Bale, Bale, Gareth Bale, Bale, Bale, Bale!
Tottenham -2.5 +185 1.25 unit
Wigan may fight as they did vs Chelsea to avoid another embarrassment, but they have shown no fight at all after going down 1-0. WHEN Tottenham scores I expect Wigan to collapse yet again.
Tottenham in their first game at home this season drew 0-0 vs City. Look for them to start the season off at home with a nice win over Wigan who may keep it close for some time, but in the end we will see Spurs going strong with Bale as their lead man creating chances. It wouldn't surprise anyone if he were to assist yet another goal for the spurs today, and he may very well score one himself too, in my opinion.
Wolverhampton - Newcastle
Carroll to score at +242, 1.25 unit.
DRAW at +232 1 unit
One of those goalscorers that I will look to cash every time I get the chance to. Give me more than +200 and I will gladly have a bet on this guy. Tall, powerful, even fast paced, score with this feet, his head, top striker for Newcastle whose looking to collect a point when they come for visit today. Although I had 4 units on him at home, playing away from home I don't expect to see lots of goals today. 1.25 unit is enough and will pay nicely.
1-1 ?
Manchester United - West-Ham, late game
Leaning United -2.5
Championship
Portsmouth - Cardiff
I've taken notice of people fading Portsmouth. The price on them has gone up in every game until now, and people fading them have been successful. Lastly when Preston broke out of their slump winning 1-0 over the sorry bastards at a nice plus money price.
Today Portsmouth is at home facing Cardiff and once again, the price has been shortened on the other team, in this case Cardiff.
Odds opened at +180 Home +162 Away +227 Draw
Cardiff has been bet down to +138 at Pinnacle. With the nice addition of Bellamy in their offense who also scored in his debut game I see no reason not to jump on the "fade Portsmouth train" and back Cardiff here.
Cardiff at +138 for 1.5 unit
