What am I missing here? I think they are MUCH stronger than Liverpool this year and Pool are missing players. Man City is great at home. I am considering making this a HUGE play.
Please chime in and convince me otherwise if there are angles I am clearly missing.

I don't think you will ever see City being priced at -200 at home against Liverpool. That's just way too much value on Liverpool NTL to pass up.
Aguero still isn't fit enough to play 90 minutes. Mangala won't even play with his current fitness. Zabaleta is also doubtful which means Clichy may be forced to play in an unnatural position again. Negredo is out. The right back situation suits Liverpool due to their pace. Liverpool will be looking for revenge due to the manner they lost the title last season. Liverpool should score at least a goal, but will City be able to score two, especially when I think Liverpool will play on the counter?
This match will be too much of a coinflip.

Going with Man City too. They have the best home record last season, no reason for them not to maintain that.
No Negredo but they got the new magician in Jovetic. Liverpool lost their best player in Suarez. He is 1 player who makes others around him better. Not going to buy into the hype of the overrated English players like Sturridge or Sterling. Certainly didn't do quite well at the WC without Suarez, did they?

As a City fan I'm backing Liverpool. Think there's too much value there.
Please explain the "value" angle.
Should be a very open and free flowing game with a ton of chances. Neither team is super tactical in trying to manufacture a point; theyd rather just play. Best two teams from last year I'll take over 3/1 odds any day on a clear top 4 team. City is the better team but not by much. The loss of Suarez is overrated in these types of games because they aren't won by a striker they're won in the midfield.
The line for Tottenham QPR was -200 do you really think the gap between City and Pool is similar? If so then you'd have to pound this line. I just think they're very similar talent wise on any given day.

I think the loss of Suarez is actually being sold short. I think it is big. People seem to be downplaying it. Not sure why... he is one of the best strikers on the planet and is a HUGE threat.
Given City's amazing home record (17-1-1 last season), I will be playing a minimum of 4 units on a City win.

I watched Pool vs Saints last week at Anfield and Pool were lucky to get the win. Lovren and Skrtel are in for some trouble at Man City in this game. Regardless of no Negredo, i still think Man City get the job done. Suarez is a HUGE loss for them and in the Saints game Pool were just running all plays through Sturridge and Sterling.
I don't buy into Liverpool at all this season and I think with them playing in the UCL and also EPL this season they are going to struggle towards Xmas and further after that. I don't have them in my own top 4 this season. The Saints players they have brought into the team were great players at Southampton but they aren't players that should be at a top 4 club. Lovren was good last season but against the big clubs he struggled and I think Man City can win this at least 2-0. Too much talent for Man City. I am a Newcastle fan and watched them play Newcastle last week and they looked good away from home (which was their weakness last season) and I think they are going to be a powerhouse again at home and stamp their authority on Liverpool in this game. Give me Pellegrini over Rodgers any day of the week as well when it comes to tactics and game plans.
Just my 2 cents

I love Man City as well.

There is just so much value in Liverpool not to Lose. The line of such a dominant team like Man City at such a low price should be met with the upmost skepticism. I've been burned twice this week with betting powerhouses like Real and Dorrmund at similar odds.
But also that trend should reverse itself and Man City at home may be the spot to do it. Therefore for me it's a coin flip. It's not worth risking $ and surely not unloading.

I agree with mr_bollox. Whichever side you like, it should be just a standard 1 unit play.
The biggest plays I cashed last year were fading Man. U. against the top clubs. From what I've seen so far, they look to be overpriced again this season. Both of these teams, along with Chelsea, will absolutely crush United.

I think people underestimate City's home advantage. Man City is much better at home. They went 17-1-1 last year. That's 17 wins out of 19 tries. Even against the top 8, I think they were 7-0-1 I believe w/ 1 loss vs Chelsea. I forgot who they tied.
From that perspective, -113 looks pretty good.

If it looks so good, probably better stay away.
all these facts pointing to city, yet the books put a price of -113? something is fishy.
