Feyenoord is still in the title race trailing league leaders and reigning champs Ajax by just one point. Ajax plays a home match against NEC on sunday, while Feyenoord travels to the northern part of The Netherlands to take on SC Heerenveen on saturday. This is not a place the top sides favor, as Heerenveen usually plays these teams hard. Ajax dropped points here earlier on in the season (2-2) and Vitesse and PSV both lost their matches in Heerenveen. Feyenoord is on an nice run so far in 2013 (6W, 1D, 2L) and won their last four. The key player in this team is Grazianno Pelle - he's scored 21 in 23 matches - and 7 in Feyenoord's last 9. He's picked up his 5th yellow card of the season against FC Utrecht, so this means he's suspended against Heerenveen. Not a good sign for Feyenoord missing their most important player and top scorer. They are not having a second proven striker in the squad, so Lex Immers might be moving from midfield to take over Pelle's role up front. Immers has scored 10 goals, but half of these were from the penalty spot - besides that, his last league goal is already from a while ago (december 16, 2012). Sekou Cisse is back from another injury and perhaps could make a start, but definitely lacks match fitness. He's only made 6 starts this season and his last appearance was 3 months ago. Feyenoord is definitely not meeting Heerenveen at the right time of the season. While Heerenveen has dropped too many points earlier, Van Basten has his team rolling now and they are playing like everyone expected they should before the season started. SC Heerenveen has won four straight (two of them being home wins against top 5 sides PSV & FC Twente) and scored atleast one goal in their last 8 matches. In matter of fact, from the 27 league matches so far this season, Heerenveen only failed to score in 5. The last time Feyenoord became Dutch champions was back in 1999, so you could say there is some pressure on this team as they haven't been this close to a title for quite a while. Heerenveen is just one point behind a playoff spot for the Europa League, so they still have all to play for. Feyenoord played against Heerenveen in Rotterdam earlier in the season, where the match ended in a 1-1 draw. These two sides also met in Heerenveen for the Dutch cup and the match was tied in both regular and extra time (2-2). Feyenoord eventually won the penalty shoot-out to advance to the quarter-finals. SC Heerenveen's striker Alfred Finnbogason is having a great season, with 20 goals in 24 appearances. Djuricic is one of the most talented young attacking midfielders in the Eredivisie and scored a brace in Heerenveen's last match. He also scored both goals in Serbia's World Cup qualifier against Scotland on tuesday. I see Heerenveen getting atleast a draw here and might even get the win against Feyenoord. Double chance wager (and the DNB) at good odds for the home side. GL

Since the 2009/2010 season, Ajax has won 31 of their 32 matches played in the final months of the season. The club from Amsterdam has won all their matches in march, april and may in 2010 and 2012 and are perfect so far this month as well. The only loss in these 32 matches came against ADO Den Haag on march 20, 2011 (3-2). Ajax already handed NEC their biggest defeat of the season in Nijmegen (1-6) and are fired up to stay on top of the table. Ajax defenders Van Rhijn and Moisander are one yellow card away from suspension. Not the biggest concern for the team right now - because if they do get suspended - it will be for Heracles next week (thus making them available again for the important away match against fellow title contender PSV the week after). At the time of writing, Ajax has all eleven starters from their last match injury-free and available to play this weekend. The players that were in a midweek qualifier with their countries should be ready to play, as they have enough time to prepare and get ready for this fixture (this is the closing match of the week on sunday, with a local kickoff time of 4.30 pm). NEC has lost all of their 3 league matches this month and lost a friendly game against a lower division side last week. NEC has only found the net once in march and conceded 7 in their last 3. Ajax has scored a total of 13 goals in the last 3 league meetings with NEC and won these by a margin of atleast 3 goals (away 0-3, home 4-1, away 1-6). Seven matches left in the Dutch Eredivisie this season with Ajax aiming to win them all to be crowned champions for the third consecutive year. Expect Ajax, with a (nearly) healthy squad, to cover in front of a sell-out crowd at the Amsterdam Arena.

You could say it's about sure Willem II will be relegated at the end of the season. They are ranked 18th and last, with 5 points behind a play out spot. It's going to be a difficult task for them to leave the bottom-place, especially with the likes of PSV, Vitesse and Ajax still in their remaining schedule. They have the weakest defense in the league and only kept a clean sheet once in 2013. Now to make things even worse is that half of the squad is currently injured. Jallo, Podevijn, Brands, Pique, Vossebelt, Van der Rijt, Mulder, Sanusi and Hofs are all out tomorrow. FC Groningen is 5 points clear from the relegation play outs and the squad is as good as healthy. Only Ajilore is doubtful to play. Groningen is not having the greatest season, but what's there not to like taking them against a banged up Willem II side? I'm taking the Groningen ML and I'd be surprised if they cannot take the win here.

AZ is having a dramatic season in the league, but is on a great run in the Dutch cup where they have reached the final. They are just one point above the 16th place (relegation play out spot), so there's work to do for Verbeek's men. Heracles has got some decent results this season, but aren't the same side after the winter break. Keyplayers Armenteros and Overtoom both left the club in january and since then they went 4-2-3, with two of their 4 wins against relegation sides. Overtoom was transferred from Heracles to AZ, but will miss tomorrow's game against his old club due to injury. AZ's playmaker Martens is still recovering from a knee injury. The rest of the team is fit. Heracles will miss four starters tomorrow: Bruns, Dorda and Quansah are all suspended. Schenkeveld, who has played 7 of Heracles' last 9, is also out (ankle injury). Heracles concedes an average of 2.08 goals per home match. Both full backs are out for Heracles tomorrow. AZ met Heracles in Alkmaar earlier this season, the match ended in a 3-1 AZ win. AZ's headcoach Verbeek knows this Heracles side well, as he coached the team during the 2009-2010 season. This was the season when Heracles last picked up a league win against AZ. Since Verbeek is with AZ, he faced his former club 5 times in the league and never lost (4W, 1D). AZ might be fighting against the play outs, but are not having any suspensions and have all starters from last match available. When AZ gets the three points here, it will be their 500th win in the Eredivisie. Even though Heracles has won their last two league matches, I'm not really impressed with the way they've been playing. AZ always has a scoring threat in Altidore (18 goals this season) and Maher is among the most talented players in the league. AZ showed some improvement in their last game against Ajax, so I like their chances to pick up the win in Almelo. GL
