Hey guys. Sorry for my absence. As you all know, I post here and on twitter but I hate posting here without giving some analysis for my plays and time has been really tight for me of late so I have stuck to twitter where simply posting the play is enough. I have continued to track and log all my plays and as I've said from the outset my entire YTD plays will be logged together to avoid any confusion.
I actually found the time to put together some analysis for today's play so I have decided to both say hello and to give you a play that I have locked in for today.
France Ligue 1 3PM EST today
Lyon v Toulouse over 2.25 -119 to win 2 units
There are usually goals in store when these two teams meet. The over 2.5 has gone 6-4 in the last 10 head to head meetings however what opens my eyes is that it has gone 4-1 the last 5 HEAD TO HEAD in games played AT Lyon. The over 2.5 is also 4-0 in the last 4 head to head overall.
That fits in nicely with the over under record of Toulouse when playing away from home this season. The visitors are 5-3 over 2.5 in their 8 road matches this season and 7-3 over 2.5 in their last 10 road games overall dating back to last season. Toulouse has conceded 16 goals in their last 6 visits to Lyon.
Lyon will want to get back on track after being hammered by PSG 4-0 in their last match and Toulouse is a soft enough opponent where they should be able net a few. As for the visitors, they have failed to find the back of their opponents net in only 3 of their last 11 games overall in league play so they should be good for a goal in this one as well. My spreadsheets give them a goal in all 4 data runs.
Playing the 2.25 v the 2.5 is preferred in the event that the game stalls at 2 so at the very least, half our stake would be refunded. Lyon have scored at least 2 goals in their last 6 home matches against Toulouse in all competitions.
My cumulative handicap for this game using all 4 spreadsheets is 3.14.
Goalkeeper Anthony Lopes is out for Lyon, so back-up Remy Vercoutre is likely to start. Lyon is missing a couple of forwards in this game, Jimmy Briand and Rachid Ghezzal won't feature due to injury however Bafétimbi Gomis returns after missing the PSG game.
Lyon is averaging 15 shots in their home games this season which is what Toulouse is conceding away from home per game this campaign. . Toulouse is averaging 7 shots on offense in their travels and 11 overall per game. Lyon is conceding almost 10 shots per game in their home games.
Both teams have not done particularly well in the clean sheets department with Lyon having only 4 clean sheets in their 15 games and Toulouse managing only 3 clean sheets out of their 15 games.
The weather is expected to be perfect for a football match with temps between 4-6 degrees Celsius and no precipitation in the forecast.
With two teams in the middle of the table tied at 19 points, going for the win should be in each manager's mind as these teams sit 9 points below the drop zone. Playing for a draw does nothing for either side here.
Good luck
