Hey cousins,
Wasn't there a guy named Elite Club on here? You know, what happened to this guru who came down from the mountaintop to grace us with his 65% lifetime winning percentage? I saw about 400 blogs from him just an hour ago, mostly hallucinating about how Rich Hill wouldn't last past the 3rd inning against the Braves jugernaut.
Anyhow, I don't blame anyone for making what they think is a red hot recommendation to Freight Dog. It's not like he's going to listen to any of us jokers. But it's possible that he will coincidentally make the same pick as us and then we can feel like he picked it BECAUSE of us.
That's cool, if you can't win $100K, at least you can claim that you advised the winner. So here goes.
OK, keeping it real here. This last bet is going to stick with you for a while, win or lose. In a way, it's like your last bet EVER, because even if you're cracking college BB at 57 %, you're still not going to be getting 20 in a row in this next millenium. So why not place the bet of a millenium and choose sides on the rivalry of our age: Yankees vs. Boston, in Fenway. The pitching line couldn't be any better, Pettitte vs. Schilling. It's not quite Ali-Frazier, especially in April, but you've got one hall-of-famer and arguably the best post season pitcher around. Friday night in Boston, house will be rocking, AROD's looking like the MVP he's supposed to be. Drop a dollar on the Bronx and watch it win.
You've already got Dontrelle Willis and Greg Maddux in your cadre of winners. Why not round it off with Andy Pettitte? Throw stats out the window and take the hot team - right now the Yanks are on fire.
If I were you, I couldn't live with myself if I were to drop the $100K with a flier on Chad Durbin or Joe Blanton. Give me a break - no one will remember who they were 10 years from now. We'll know Schilling and whoever will be slammin' them out tomorrow- Jeter or Giambi or Posada.
