EG, I think that is a very nice pick and I may just tail you. I was looking at it before and noticed that Jhoulys Chacin is pitching for the Rocks. That kid is dynamite and got me a win earlier this week when he had the no-no going against Cleveland. He lost the no hit bid, but finished strong for the victory. For anyone interested, I am no longer on the Braves tomorrow. I went over their stats vs. lefties and found nothing to like. Their batting averages are way down against southpaws. Good luck.

BAMA WINS 10TH IN A ROW ON YEARS FIRST FOOTBALL GAME! The Tampa Bay Bucs defeated the Houston Texans in a exhibition match 14-10. Houston scored a late FG to make it close. Oh wait...this just in that was a baseball game played in Houston

How can I be mad. I knew what I was getting into. That's like going to war and be surprised when u get shot at. The only thing that disapoints me is the Braves couldn't muster up more offense. The Padres did their part scoring 4 runs. There are on a hot streak lately scoring 3 and 4 runs in a game.

'Tis a good rule. An Arizona Diamondbacks clause may need to be thrown in, perhaps, now that they have hit their offensive stride. A ratification to our constitution is in order, I say! Well, this current streak seems to be like a shark. It seems that it has to keep moving forward or it will die. As much as I may have wanted to be patient, there is and always has been a pick that I just can't resist. Today, it is Colorado. I went with Chacin as we're all chasin' that money train! Jhoulys Chacin! What more can I say? The kid has been on fire in the month of June! Cubs leadoff man Starlin Castro is 0-7 against him. Colorado's offense has been clicking lately, with Troy Tulowitzki being productive, as usual. The encouraging thing is that others have been stepping up when needed, such as Ty Wigginton, who is on an absolute tear over the last several games. I know the Rocks lost two out of three in the Bronx, but I like the way they battled and think that they gained confidence using the Yanks as a measuring stick. This is the time of year, as you recall, that the Rockies always seem to catch fire and begin their surge for a pennant. The main concern here is that, although Colorado has won 7 of the club’s last 8 games against the Chicago Cubs and 4 of 5 this season, they are only 3-11 in their last 14 visits to Wrigley Field. The other concern is the weather. There is a 40% chance of rain at the time of the first pitch, 40% during the second hour, and increasing to 50% during the third hour. Win or lose, it is a fun ride! mini-slump will turn around. Streaks seem to happen in cycles, both good and bad. Thanks for the kind words. Getrdonrite gave you the answer to your question. Ironically, however, after Gonzalez homer in the 1st, I heard the announcers say that the wind was only blowing out at 6 miles per hour. They wait as long as possible to come out with the lines on the totals for games played at Wrigley Field due to the constantly changing wind conditions coming off of Lake Michigan. Oh well. So it's back to the old drawing board. I learned a lesson today. The same lesson that Gopherit learned on SFTC: Never pick against the Cubs at Wrigley if you have an important streak on the line. I got gopherized by Matt Garza. Each team's pitching staff performed completely the opposite of what I had predicted. My hat's off to the Cubs. I hinted that this may happen in my write-up of the game towards the end of the post where I listed that my main concern was the fact that the Rockies were just 3 for their last 11 at Wrigley Field. Make it 3 for 12, now. That place is just bad juju for Colorado as well as many other teams.
