It's hard to beat Playoff Hockey for excitement and this year has been non-stop drama. Unfortunately my Sharks can't find a way to win in OT. That's twice now they have to Nashville in OT. Game 7 for both Western Conference Playoffs coming up!

Sad news to report Ladies and Gentlemen. Long time $25 Dime Club and all around good guy Irisheyez passed away last night from a massive Heart Attack at age 46. He was a good friend and played in one of my Fantasy Football leagues. He was very active in the pools here on Covers and was a Gladiator in the Battle Forums that I host. He will be sorely missed. May God be with him in his journey home.

I took NYM this evening. Unfortunately I was late to the party and got it at -127. Mets have owned the series in recent years, losing last night for the first time in the last 12 meetings against the Rockies. Mets' starter Verrett has been excellent every time they've given him a chance to start, and he is a rare commodity in that he has had success pitching in Colorado (albeit limited). His only start at Colorado was last year, where he went 8 innings and gave up 1 run on 4 hits.
On the other side, Butler for the Rockies is off to a good start on the season for a Rockies pitcher (3.86 ERA), but both starts were away from home. At Coors, he's got an ERA of 6.80 in 41 career innings, and he was pummeled in his only previous start against the Mets, giving up 6 runs in 4 innings in New York last year.
I think the Mets come out motivated, and I like Verrett. He seems to be doing what Kris Medlen did years ago for my Braves. They give him a spot start here and there filling in for someone that's injured or needs a little rest, and he uses the opportunity to build more and more trust with his teammates and coaches until they have no choice but to give him a spot in the rotation. Hopefully he proves his worth once again tonight. Best of luck to all.

I like Verrett as well and almost added him to my Fantasy team because I needed a pitcher for tonight. I went with Colby Lewis instead though because of the high K ratio. I agree with you that the Mets really need to take a long look at making Verrett a Starter but then again the Mets are rich in starting pitching.

I think you made a sound decision. Verrett 2.2 innings, 10 hits, 3 walks, 7 earned runs. I will place myself back in time out.

I'm so excited about my Sharks being 1 win away from their 1st Stanley Cup appearance! I'm seriously thinking about flying down to San Jose to catch one of the games if the Sharks can make it!
GO SHARKS!

i'm sure everybody got the email but some dude is 2 picks away from the 25k prize on streak survivor. he's on Atlanta Braves tonight
Yeah that was an unfortunate pick. But he went out on his own terms and I think that when you have these huge streaks sometimes we tend to out think ourselves but in the end you have to go with the method that got you there in the first place.

Exciting times on the Leaderboard for Survivor as we have 4 Cappers with streaks of 14 and a gang of Cappers with 13. Wouldn't it be nice to see multiple people cash in at $25K to say the least and at least one lucky person hit the big one this year!

That was a good streak Reno. Washington took down quite a few streaks and money that day. Get back on that horse and ride again!
