If I were in their position, I would do a hedge with 5-10k the ensure you win something.

Hard to argue with a guy who's hit 20 in a row BUT...... For the last couple picks he's been waiting til Day 6, I get it; Don't make a"rush pick", but seriously ? NOTHING good to pick for those days ? Then when we get to the last minute, how do we know there's gonna be a solid play on the board ?? What if the best play he saw was 2 days ago ?
Unless, of course, it's all a work and there no "soun999999" (dun-dun-dun)

Every occur to anyone with common sense, maybe he has been trying to secure funds and a viable sportsbook to place that hedge bet? This is not the Monopoly money that people bet and post on these forums…..not everyone has 5 to 15 grand cash laying around to bet……

@shale
That thought entered my mind as well. And it wouldn’t be unreasonable to think it’s possible.

Are you people all newbies? Hedging bets is as basic as it gets, but you're acting as though you've never heard of it until just now. I'm not putting you all down, I'm just curious.
As for our compatriot going for the 25k, I personally wouldn't hedge. He's already won $1k, so it's not like he did it all for nothing. But that's a judgment call. After that, if he reaches 24 wins, it's not a judgment call. He's already got $26k regardless. No reason to hedge on the extra 75k that comes with winning number 25. He's either up $26k or up $101k. It's all gravy once you've gotten 21 in a row and are guaranteed $26k.
