Just wondering if anyone is playing the NHL Post Allstar system, and if so what teams qualify?
Are you talking about DanRules24's system? If so, then we're looking at playing on teams that are 10+ games over .500, and fading teams that are 10+ games under .500, right? I assume the rules are still posted somewhere. I do have them in my spreadsheet, if needed.
Here are the teams, based on the above criteria. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Team Wins Losses Rel .500
CAROLINA 31 11 20
COLORADO 32 12 20
FLORIDA 32 15 17
TORONTO 29 13 16
MINNESOTA 28 13 15
TAMPA BAY 30 16 14
NY RANGERS 30 17 13
NASHVILLE 28 18 10
Team Wins Losses Rel .500
OTTAWA 14 26 -12
CHICAGO 16 30 -14
NEW JERSEY 15 30 -15
PHILADELPHIA 15 30 -15
SEATTLE 15 31 -16
BUFFALO 14 31 -17
ARIZONA 11 34 -23
MONTREAL 8 36 -28

I found the OP...
https://www.covers.com/forum/systems-strategies-79/nhl-post-all-star-game-system-101770784
Here are the original rules:
"Target teams that at the break are 10 games or more above or below .500. An OT loss is considered a loss. For teams 10 above .500 play them on a chase when they have at least a 3 game homestand. For teams 10 below .500, chase when they have at least a 3 game road trip. Chase up to 4 games only (only 1 time in 3 years did it go to a game 4). Win 1 and done, no double dipping."
Rules that were added/updated:
Eliminate series if playing against (chase or fade) two or more other qualifying teams
- example: eliminate a FADE play if 2 of 3 games were against other qualifying fade teams
Do not play the last weekend, esp. if teams are sitting players (cut off last day of March?)
FYI, there were double dips later in the system. Can't remember if it was "play at your own risk" or not.
Okay, that's all the information that I have.
@rustie
Are you going to post the plays and track it? FYI, fade NJ begins on 2/7 (tomorrow)! I've gone through the schedules, and am happy to list the dates, if you want.

Hello and welcome nmgolf57, first I want to thank you for your work in looking into this system. (Your choice of teams is correct.) It appears it can be profitable, however the amount of juice is enough to scare me off. I feel one loss could set you back significantly and two would be the end of your bankroll and patience. It takes a large set of cahones to pull the trigger on a 3rd or 4th game with that much at stake even if your confident of the outcome. After reading through the entire thread Dan did make some changes to the system such as not playing a series where 2 or more opposing teams were in the same category, as would be the case with the Devils tomorrow ( facing Ott & Montreal). Using that criteria I come up with Chicago on Feb 9 as the first play this season. However I personally will not be playing this system , but a variation of it, I will not be posting here. However, if you would care to track this yourself, feel free. You should have no problem starting your own thread or if so take this one, just be sure to give note to the OP (Danrules24 not me) . Any questions and I can be reached here as I do check in every now and then, and would be willing to assist in anyway I can.
Best of luck with all your endeavors now and in the future

Oops, you're right. Thanks. I made a little adjustment in my spreadsheet to trigger that rule. I'll track it this year. I did follow the system in the past, and it did show a profit of +6.8 units in both 2018 and 2019, and wasn't played last year. DanRules24 used a Labby system, which seemed to help with the wager sizes; but you're right about the patience thing... there is a lot of sweating!
Good luck!

Yes, and another game A winner!
Since BUF is on a 5-game road trip, I'm going to play a double-dip (DD). However, their next game is at MON (another fade team in this system), so I'll begin the DD on 2/25 at STL.
According to DanRules24's system, he said no DDs; however, he did play them later on. For the couple of years that I tailed, it was profitable.

You're welcome Rustie. Unfortunately, the MON play was costly across multiple systems for me, as they beat CGY (> -400). MON will be at EDM tomorrow, 3/5.
CAR begins a 4-game home stand, so play A is today.
FLA won their game D, and FLA (fade OTT) won game A. OTT still has 3 games left on this road trip, so I'll be playing a DD beginning 3/5.
Also starting tomorrow is (fade) SEA.

Mar-5 (fade) MON game B

(fade) OTT and (fade) SEA both won yesterday. OTT was game A/C, so that chase is over. SEA was A/E, so starting a DD on them today.
(fade) MON lost again. EDM has been my nemesis this year; they always seem to lose to whomever I'm fading.
Today is CAR (vs SEA) game A/C, and (fade) SEA game A/D.

Played straight up; although regulation would have been a better idea. Either way, both plays won.
No play today... 3 tomorrow, including last DD on (fade) SEA
