Starting up a new journal that will be based around making large wagers very selectively. These spot-plays will come with an in-depth write up that will offer the usual capping techniques (situational analysis, match-ups, trends, stats, etc.) as well as some more creative and unorthodox angles. Good luck and stay tuned!

Best of Luck on this DJ.. after your failed experiment with SuperEagle's Challenge of reaching $5000 (at least you stuck it out for awhile..) you are now setting a new challenge ahead of you..
Look forward to reading the write-ups and hopefully seeing this go past a couple of months....

This comment really struck a nerve with me, especially coming from someone who pulled out of their own system early as well, so I'll be restarting the challenge with supereagle and making it to 5k.
This thread will remain as intended and will only be large spot-plays... which I believe will produce a play this weekend if all goes well.

It was intended to strike a nerve.. so I'm happy to see you're continuing the challenge.
I didn't pull out of anything. I moved out of my house and into my father's place for 2 weeks from August 15th to September 1st, and he does not have internet. I also started a new job and starting dating a girl from Montreal all at the same time. Life has been too busy to try an find an internet cafe just to post on here.
I hated to not be able to finish off the MLB Season, but sometimes other shit is more important. I'm gearing up for Live Wagering NBA and NFL.. that'll be my only action this Fall/Winter.
Cheers..

Montreal Alouettes -5.5 [+100] @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers 9/24 -$1000 to win $1000
In Calvillo's first game back from a sternum injury that caused him to miss 2-games, he hapharzardly lead the Al's to a 31-14 win. I think this is a good thing for Al backers tonight because Calvillo recognizes that although they got the win, he made a lot of mental mistakes. The team as a whole will be coming together to make a statement as this is the team that injured Calvillo to begin with... add in that Cahoon is closing in on 1000 receptions and this game looks to be like a classic Montreal blowout.
Some people might say that Winnipeg will be clawing in this game as their post-season hopes are on the line when in actuality, they can lose this and still make it. The Blue Bombers will safely assume that the Stamps take care of the Lions which would drop BC to 3-9, the same record Winnipeg will have if they lose tonight. The two teams then face off in a home-and-home series which will basically determine who gets the last playoff spot. I'm sure BC and Winnipeg are both looking ahead to this very important matchup and likely "taking off" this week against much superior opponents.
Als are 8-2 ATS L10 and 4-1 L5 in Winnipeg.
Basically, Winnipeg's run game won't be able to keep up with Montreal's passing game as the Alouettes secure an easy victory with a clean game, while the Blue Bombers can't focus as they look ahead to next week. Some of the numbers show that the Bombers can keep this one close and even upset but I really think the players in the Montreal dressing room will want this more, and be more willing to execute and take it whereas the Blue Bombers will shoot themselves in the foot as they have done all season with stupid and silly mistakes.

Damn. I swear long write-ups are fade material. No offense DJ, your other thread's record speaks for itself. I mean anybody's long write-up always sound so damn good and sensical, then seem to lose. Maybe just my random experience, but it seems rare that the result of the game follows the logic of the write up.

Sorry guys... not for the loss but for not posting my pick today. No point in even going through it since it's after the fact but I made a large wager and just didn't have time for the writeup so I couldn't post it... so I'm thinking of maybe just ditching the writeups like nolemonasses suggests. Not because my capping is any different, but simply because the plays will be the same with or without the writeup so who cares how I came to the conclusion?
I'm making a low-key play here and just hoping for the best in this shootout. This pick is not for the faint of heart.
