What is the Chase System for Baseball? Saw mention on other thread you linked Kreatture.
Thanks.
This was the Chase System of mention, and it was extremely successful, as it has been for many years.
CRISS-CROSS BLITZ
Originally the RunLine Blitz first started by Covers member prof8t which I followed in his thread here a couple years ago. I then made an altercation to the System which improved it a few Units and called it the Criss-Cross Blitz, where full credit has always been given to prof8t for his original finding of the System. It was up +50 Units until I moved in August and was no longer able to continue. 45 of the 50 wins came within the first 3 games and it never went past a game 5, as you can well see in the spreadsheet.
Many people made a lot of Units off this System and I've had questions already on if I will be doing it again for MLB 2011. Altho I no longer advocate the Chase Systems, my answer has been - in short terms - Yes.
I've also been working on the Top 7 Home Team System which was also excellent until the Texas Rangers 4-game sweep at the hands of Baltimore. It was a huge 4-game loss, but I continued on and through solid capping and an even more solid Recovery Process, actually finished in the black. The year previous I had created the Top 5 Home Team System which was phenomenal (it was my inexperienced money management which failed me at that time, the first season I started this great journey). I will be running a revamped version of this System as well for MLB 2011.
Looking forward to another incredible year of MLB

For anyone who wants to read last season's MLB 2010 Playbook, here is the link. It's 21 pages and 500+ posts, with daily links to the spreadsheets which were used. It's never too early to prepare for the upcoming MLB Season, and for those of you who are just new to me since this winter, you might be interested in reading the daily journals if you're bored. I even enjoy re-reading the spreadsheets from time to time as it puts things into perspective.

I actually just registered to ask you whether you were going to run your Blitz and Top Home systems this MLB year, should have just read a few posts up! But I am very glad to hear you will be starting a playbook thread for them this year and I will for sure tail it with you!
I had a suggestion about these systems, since they are chases, you could put a labby in place to soften the blow of the losses. Your sweep last year with Top 7 would have cost you considerably less, all losses would for that matter, and you would keep near same level of profitability.
I plan on being a regular commenter/viewer in the MLB 2011 thread, looking forward to it!
Just had one question, when can I expect to see this thread pop up? Last year as early May apparently; same time this year?
Thanks and keep up the good work!

Hi Gadget
I experimented with the Lab lines for these Systems last Season and it would have been a failure after a couple months, so I quit tracking it. Now 2 Seasons ago, it would have worked much better as Game 1's hit 60%. Last Season started off horrible for Game 1's and was well below .500 for quite awhile. I am personally not a fan of the Labourchere and will never employ it.
I run a Modified Martingale and am comfortable with how it runs. I have a Recovery Process in place which has been unequalled by anyone. The St. Louis sweep early in the year was completely recovered as if it never happened after just a couple weeks, and the Texas sweep (which lost 80-90 Units) was on it's way to being fully recovered as well until I moved and was unable to finish out the Season. The System still finished in the black which is a testament to it I think. I don't know any other System out there which had an 80-90 Unit loss plus a couple of 10-15 Unit losses and still showed a profit, and it only ran until mid-August when it was really heating up.
That being said, I am not sure how I will be playing the Money Management for these Systems this year, but I will have that all figured out before Opening Day. The plays will either be in this thread here or a new one at the beginning of the season which opens March 31st.
Thanks for dropping by, look forward to communicating with you this season.
Cheers

Golden State Warriors/Phoenix Suns Under 217 (+104) 5% $487.37 to win $506.86
Pinnacle. Sold 1 point.
This total might climb higher with the way it's going, but I wanted to get it in now before it turns around and comes back down.
I like a few NHL plays tonight, but am waiting on a few things before locking in.
Last night hurt with the Villanova complete collapse being up 13 with 4 minutes left and up 5 with 20 seconds remaining. Rutgers just started shooting a lot of ridiculous 3's, but most were uncontested and lucky to all go in. Looked like a 2nd chance with OT looming until they even messed that up with 1 second to play.
Should have had the nice Dog winner with Louisville, but another collapse in the final couple minutes and then couldn't get the shot to drop on the final possession before being blown out in the OT.

It's when the bet seems to be going well for you but loses in the end... Getting moosed is worst than just losing a bet because it makes you believe you capped the game right/have a chance to win.

Yep, exactly right DJ. Villanova was cruising all game and were up double digits with just a few minutes left. With the college shot clock being 35 seconds it's that much harder for teams to make a quick comeback late in games. I had already counted it as a win which would have resulted in a +$100 profit for the night, satisfactory.
Louisville also played well all game and had a multi-point lead in the final 2 minutes, and then even when the Irish tied it they had the final shot to win it, which missed, but then grabbed the offensive board and couldn't put it away. Tough loss.
A game like the Red Wings where it was over as soon as it started doesn't sting as much. Sure, very disappointed in the result, but they never really stood a chance at winning that one. An NHL Moose would be something like if your team was up 2-0 with under 5 minutes to go and ended up losing. You're left shaking your head with this confused look like "What the hell just happened??"

If anyone would like to see the final 2 minutes of the Villanova/Rutgers game from last night, here's the video. It's 4:35 long.. **WARNING** It's really disturbing and may cause seizures if you were cheering for Villanova

Very disappointed in the Montreal Canadians tonight. No excuse losing to the lowly Islanders who are severely short-handed and had a fill-in rookie in net. The big play today was going to be Buffalo, but the line movement confused me so I dropped it. Very disappointed college hoops, too. Won the one game I dropped from the card (Valparaiso).
Hope everyone is making money off someone else. One of these days I'll get my shit together and go on a run..

UCLA almost made the cut before game time at -8.5.. getting them here to win the game at -4 so we have to jump on this spot. That's it for tonight, heading to sleep.

Parley (-130) Kim Clijsters -778 Andrea Petkovic -177 7.23% 696.15 to win $533.34
Still kickin around tonight, thought I'd make another edition. Been following the ATP and WTA Tournaments this week and finally like the odds on a match. 1st match is 9am EST. This is the Max Wager at Pinnacle on the Parley. Definitely going to sleep now, see you tomorrow.

Thanks for the feedback on my post Kreatture, I look forward to late March!
If Labby management is a failure with your systems, then I won't play it and will instead play whatever money management method you come up with for the opening thread/post.
Not to put the pressure on you, but this is my first season of MLB where I will be rigidly following a system so I will also be rigidly following whatever money management you apply with it. However your money management seemed very successful last season so hopefully there will be no worries! :)
I must say that I do have a few concerns/questions, but out of respect of this thread I will not cloud it up with MLB questions until the time comes where I will need to worry about it, perhaps many of my questions will be answered in the opening post anyway. I'm just a little weary that losses cost so many units (80-90), if one happened early season that would be devastating. Your recovery method seems to be able to help with this which is great, but I can't help but feel weary about it.
Thanks for reading, looking forward to next month! I'll be keeping my eyes out for your thread/post!

There are always worries.. all you can do is do all the necessary homework and cap the games the best way possible. MLB is by far the easiest Sport to handicap and it's the best time of the year to make big profits, but there is always risk. We just try to minimize that risk as much as possible.
Typical Chase Series Losses are around 10-15 Units. The 80-90 loss was a 4-game series which was the first 4-game series loss since I had created the System. It's something which was taken into consideration in the end of season analysis and will never occur again (mainly because the 4th game of a series has been dropped and added into the filters).
Petkovic up a break in the 1st Set up 4-3, lookin good!

What a disgusting match.. cruises in the 2nd and starts the 3rd Set with an easy game, takes 5 straight games very easily, looks in complete control, then a complete self-destruction losing the next 5 games??? Mattek-Sands had her head hung and completely given up. I don't understand this one..
