Was a good night, enjoyed the hockey games. A lot of late nights this week already with the Jays out on the West Coast Monday/Tuesday & the late Vancouver game last night. Will try to have picks up early today cuz I think I'll be snoozin when I get home this evening for a few hours before the NHL games start.

There's never a lot of Value on Series Prices, better to play straight Futures for the Conference, but as entertaining as this series will be (this could be the most exciting 1st round series) I also feel it will be the most lopsided.. Montreal might get 1, but that could be it. Getting +money at 4-0, 4-1, or 4-2 is great Value to me.

Liking Nashville all the more. They are clicking, and the acquisition of Fisher is finally paying off.
Washington escaped lucky, the ref totally blew that call. Puck was dead all the way.
Canucks look in charge, I don't think it will go past five. Not the same Hawks team as last year.
Can't bet against my Habs but even then I don't trust Bruins in the playoffs. Thomas has yet to prove he can win the big one. Julien's job is on the line with this series.
Thoughts on Kings? Still think they could do damage. Don't know if they can win the series, but they could take it deep.

Damnit, I posted a message earlier but it didn't post.. here's short version..
Still love Anaheim, will be playing them in Game 2.
Washington survived, was a tough game. I've always said King Henrik is capable of stealing an entire Series all by himself, and he will have to I think. I still like Caps to advance.
Vancouver rolled, as expected here, and should have no problem with this year's version of Chicago. No Byfuglien = No Repeat. I also have Canucks in five.
My thoughts on Kings are similar to those of yours about Montreal. LA is my team and I will cheer them til the bitter end. The Sharks were supposed to be the favorites the past few years and a lot of people have picked them to go all the way now, too.. well we'll see if they choke or not this year. If we had a full team I felt we would be competing with Vancouver for the Western Crown, but now I'm not even sure we can get out of the 1st Round. Expect low scoring games in San Jose, even lower scoring over in LA. As long as LA goes down swinging, I'll be happy.. just don't wimper out.
Look out for the Flyers tonight.. that place is insane. Everyone's on Buffalo but don't be surprised if Philly wins that series..
Parley Bruins/Sharks tonight pays 2.3/1 .. looks pretty good! No way in hell either of us would bet it tho, we'll both be cheering on our teams, even if the end result looks bleak..

LA Kings inside guy Rich Hammond.. one of best in the biz, posted this today.
Murray talks lineup choices
Kings know they can't match San Jose up and down the score sheet.. so up the intensity, up the physicality.. Sharks are soft, we know that.. let's drop the puck an see what happens!

I called the called the Blackhawks Stanley Cup champs from the beginning of the playoffs last year. kreatture on the other hand said it was a terrible pick, just to show you how much he knows!!!!

Price standing on his head. This is the only way Habs win this series, Boston is just a superior team.
I agree with San Jose, the spotlight is off them, and this might let them go deep. They have the manpower, but the playoffs are not kind to them. I think LA could frustrate them, but with Kopitar, hmmm...
I think Buffalo could easily take this to seven. They have the better coach, and Philly once more has no goalie.
I'm sticking to Nashville. I always felt Trotz should win coach of the year at least once; he spins gold from crap.
Best time of the year for me, this is the best trophy in sport!

And so you win round two. Still, I find it hard to believe Anaheim can go far with Emery in net.
As much as I want the Habs to walk out if Boston 2-0, I have to think Bruins will take this one. They will crash the net all game to get into Price's head (if that's even possible!)
Kings minus Kopitar and now Stoll, top two centers. Ouch. Could be a long night.

Holy rough night on the bases.. thankfully NHL was great to help limit the damage, but holy still..
That's what happens when you're completely exhausted an start listenin to other people.. the only plays I really liked was Texas, Tor/Bos Under & Oakland, should have been a small card but I was a zombie yesterday.. been up til 3am every night this week watchin Jays in Seattle Monday/Tuesday, Vancouver game Wednesday, Kings game Thursday (damn OT!), then up early for work. Managed to get a full 7hrs sleep last night so feelin good now!
I actually WANT Emery in net.. was very happy to see him in there. Nashville never quits tho (neither do the Ducks) so it's gonna continue to be a great series!
I'm actually worried for Boston.. Montreal did the same thing last year. They were completely dominated every single game but they stacked the line and didn't let anyone through.. if someone did get through Halak was ALWAYS there! Same thing happened in Game 1, Boston completely dominated them but the defense was tight and Price was always in position to make those saves look easy. So.. why can't it happen again this year? Everyone (myself included!) thought there was no way Montreal could continue to hold up under the all-out attacks - but they did! Boston will no doubt throw everything at them in the 1st period tonight, and if Montreal shuts the door and can manage to grab a 1-0 lead, Boston's mental game is gonna creep in big time.. 1st period the key tonight.
Personally, altho I have a play on Boston for the Series, I am NOT of fan of them.. I wanted the Canadians to win this series. If I could hand pick the 2nd round series I would want Washington, Philly, Pitts, & Montreal to win, to set up Washington/Montreal & Philly/Pitts .. that would be sweet!!
Yep.. losin Stoll hurts, one of the best face-off men in the league and he will definitely be missed. Kings have been dealin with a loss of key players for weeks now and found a way to survive.. time for others to step up now. It looks bleak, but I'll be there cheerin my ass off til the end!
NBA Playoffs start today, SWEET! Have a couple of games ready to go so will post plays shortly.. Playoffs are always great money-making opportunities, and MLB will turn around.. it's only April and we're still gathering info.
Cheers

Kreatture, I've heard you say this before...obviously you haven't learned from your past experience....stick to your guns and don't be influenced, this is what will help you rise to the top!

Yeah I know, I've always been better doin my own stuff. I was just so exhausted yesterday I could barely function last night. It's hard to resist temptation when your head isn't clear and it caught me with my head down last night.
You always learn something from losing days, so I'm ok with it. MLB is a loooooong season and one bad day/week/month won't kill you. NHL lookin good so far & NBA starts today.. Here. We. Go!

Agreed with kreatture, Anaheim needs Emery in net if they want a chance at advancing. Emery has been solid throughout his entire career however his off-ice blemishes have tarnished that reputation. Hopefully he's matured now and can stay on track because his skills will take him far.

That's it for the NHL right now.. Not paying -21 to play Boston -1 until Bruins show me they can break through. Tempted to play the Under 4.5 (+167).. I'll go with the 5.
