I'm a huge baseball fan, and obviously I would like to have a little action on this year playoffs, so I will try the following chase system (if you're not a chasing fan, this won't be for you). The system is very easy and simple: The goal is to win 7 Units during the playoffs (1 unit per series) ok ok...I know it is a small profit but as I said before, this is just to have a little action during the playoffs. (We'll let the big action to NCAAF and NFL)
It is a straight chase until the Home Team wins 1 game in the series...once the Home Team wins their first game we're done for that series.
I only back tested 3 years back...but I don't think a loss will come very often..(if someone has that info it'll be really helpful)
So the record for the last 3 years: 21-0 (7 Units per year) Only 1 game went to the 4th game btw, sometimes you will get + money when the teams are Home Dogs...
BTW for the games where the favorite was -200 or more the RL - 1½ won on the same game as SU.
Any comments or questions are welcome....any of the information above should be used under your own risk...let's see what happens...
I'll be also posting the plays on during playoffs season.

I am also playing this angle Gentruchi. I got this last year from this forum(can't remember whose thread...sorry) only it was hockey and it worked like a charm. I'm thinking of using a more agressive Martingale progression, but the juice on the Philly home games is brutal...may have to play the run line. What do you think?

The numbers for last three years shows the RL is been succesful when the team is favored by -200 or more(when trying to win their first game). So I might try the RL as well..
About the money management sounds very interesting...
by aggressive Martingale progression you mean the Grand Martingale?? It could be a bit risky but definitively more profitable. Also will need a higher bankroll...
If I'm right ...using the Grand Martingale for last three years will have made 56 Units instead of the 21...mmmm

OK, I'm gonna do this. Then I'll need to feel a bit more confident about it. I went back to 1999 and back tested past 11 years and still no series loss. At below the numbers (Only 1 series went until a 5th game in the past 11 years: OAK vs NYY in 2001)

I'm feelin' good about this, Gentruchi. The only thing you need with a system like this is a set of steel balls to run the chase all the way through if necessary. So polish 'em up and let's make some green!

Dont cry when TB wins and you did not play because you let your emotions get in the way. If your wagering w/ emotions then your in the wrong game. You need to have ice in your vains, be confident in your picks, and continue to do what you set out to do when using a system.
This is why they call it gambling, I call it investing!
I can already feel the adrenaline rush after D.Price and TB win!
to the brave who follow through on their mission!
Prediction:
TX 0/3/1
TB 4/11/0
Yes sir, taking TB run line too, and dont give me that , I dont believe in luck, I am blessed!

Went back to 1995. The system has never lost. Went to game 5 once (2001 ALDS) and game 6 once (1996 WS)
You are correct, Jokeheads, although I wouldn't compare WS with DS since DS is a 5 game format and WS is 7. The Yanks beat the A's 5-3 in the 5th game at Yankee Stadium for the only home win. And I am shakily risking 58 units for history to repeat itself. I've learned one thing playing chase systems. You either go all the way or you shouldn't be playing them at all. Go Rays!

I posted this system last year for playoff baseball. In a 5game,7game, or even a 9game series that they use to play in the early 1900's-1920's there has NEVER been a series without a home team win. I checked Wiki and every series since baseball began in 1800s followed. History may be made tonight.

Well if it makes anyone feel safer, 5 Dimes offers alternate run lines of up to + or - 6.5 for tonight's game if you want some extra insurance and if you want to bet your entire bankroll, but I don't think I would advise it. Oh god...

OK, It's official. 1st Loss for this system based on MLB info posted during the game. 1st loss in a don't know how many years of Baseball history and first since 1995 When Division Series Started .
I knew the play was Rangers all the way but had to stick. Sorry for all of you who ride it all the way, I hope you kept your units size the small why.
Now, let's see how many years it takes for this to happen again.
See ya around .

Gentruchi. this is where I have to disagree on systems. I used to say follow the system, but don't be afraid to cap some games and make some judgement calls. And people always gave me shit about that. Maybe I only did it 5 times out of 120 series, but it helped.
Sorry about the loss. I know exactly how you feel about the jinx. Same thing happens to me when I raise my unit size, or start tailing a system or player that I have been tracking.
GL, there is still more MLB playoffs...

I learned a valuable lesson last night. No matter how strong a trend is, don't ever bet the farm on it, because sooner or later, the streak will be broken. I overbet my bankroll on this series and now I'm paying for it big time. My hat is off to the Rangers, and Cliff Lee is the Man. One question though Rangers. Why didn't you do this at YOUR house??!!!
