B2W- Glad to see you agree! I definitely think that BOS will come out strong right off the bat (pun intended) to start off the series. I see an A game win (Knock on wood... don't wanna jynx it like our good friend Irage... hahaha just kidding) seeing as they were simply humiliated by the Yanks.

pratt- I just checked and saw that Lester is scheduled to start tomorrow against the twins.. Not sure how they will manage the rotation afterwards, but I think it should be 1-2-3. I'm assuming the pitchers who were scheduled to play against the Yankees will play when they replay the postponed games

Cards are my pick the lefty against a weak batting crew with the Cubs. Cubs are horrible. Pitt technically isn't a play because they are under .500, but I like the match up. Colorado is horrible on the road and I like the position.

Sorry, I am staying away from Boston. Twins have surprised teams, but I absolutely agree they will win at least one game.

Hey guys I think B2W is right and we should not clutter this thread with out picks.
I've really wanted to post mine a few times and decided not to as they were NOT rpi plays. I'm glad I am 28-1 (only a 2 game chase loss). And I am glad everyone else is making green. Lets keep at it.

That being said - for unofficial plays. I think KC is a good team to look at all season long!! They are 3-12 and 0-9 at home.
Other teams in history that have had similar #'s to begin the season would be the 62 mets (0-9 to start on the road, not at home like KC). They ended up with one of the worst records ever in the MLB. Other teams would be Bal of a couple of yrs ago. They were 30-70 before Buck arrived. I know its hoping for a lot out of KC, but I'm not expecting them to lose 40 out of 41 like another team has

B2W, Irage, I have a couple questions about the RPI.
 
1. Does the system come into play on a team at 500 or UNDER 500 in winning percentage? (Today is Pitt)
2. Does the system come into play on a 4 game series?

To make things easier I have put B2W's RPI system in a spreadsheet.  You can download it off of google docs, just follow the importing data tab instructions to update the RPI and various other data on a daily basis:

At .500 win %, we make an executive decision of whether to play fhe series. Under. 500% we dont play.
Yes, we play 4 game series chase BUT only chase up to 3 games. See rules in first page of thread.

I'm taking STL and CHW for a chase. CHW why? Peavy! He made me $$$ last season. Gotta ride with him. BOL to all. I'd like to take TEX as well but I am afraid of CC. He may have pitched horribly in his first outing but he bounced back. Hitters are an issue for me in this match-up so I'm passing up on them.

B2W - so wouldn't MIL fall out of the series play since they are below 500, plus their RPI advantage is only 27 better.  OR are we saying this is just an UNOFFICIAL series not using RPI or WIN% filters?

You know that was an unfair statement. Technically, Rockies have steadily improved over the last 10 years. In the past 4 years they had a win average of .497. Just below .500, but pretty good, but last year they won many of their April road games, but after that they went to shit. They traditionally are not a good raod team and their line up hasn't changed a lot.

Yes, WhiteSox fit the RPI today. I had them on my spreadsheet, but didn't copy them in. With that said, I'm with B2W on this one. They are a little unsettled at the moment and there RPI is inflated. I would wait another series before betting them.
