I am not a fan of HP machines, but this one seems loaded.

Here are the specs of my HP Pavilion laptop I got about a month ago directly through HP just to give you an idea of what you are getting for your money... paid $1335.19 total for mine... mine has a faster processor, faster FSB speed, faster harddrive (7200 RPM vs 5400 RPM) all the little geehaws like fingerprint reader, bluetooth and built in cam, better graphics card, and a wireless-n adapter.  The CompUSA has double the harddrive space and an upgraded OS.  I'll let you decide which is a better deal for yourself.

Love the laptop, hate HP support the few times I have dealt with them in the past.

I configured it the same as you and the price was 1293.

Not so sure about the HP brand..

I think that is a pretty good deal.  Personally I don't have a problem with HP/Compaq.  You are going to get horrible support with any computer maker now.
