The old one is 160 gigs and the new one is 500 gigs. Old one only has 12 gigs free space left. The hard drive is filled with downloads, movies, pictures which i figured if i moved should free up around 100 gigs.
By the way how do you clone one hard drive to the other?
appreciate the help

Oh hell, you need to clone your old drive to the new one. Most of the hard drives comes with software that will clone it for you. What make did you purchase?
Personally we still use Norton Ghost 2003 to do ours. I like cloning in a "Dos" environment instead of Windows. I know when you bought Western Digital retail in the past you would get a disk that would do it for you. You would put the cd in like a boot disk and it would fire up. Did it come with a CD

Yup EIDE. So let me see if i got this right. I dont install anything on the new hard drive and instead clone everything from my old hard drive to the new one, then when thats done i switch the new hard dirve into the master and take out the old one and store it away.
Does the cloning software know which drive is which. I would be sick if i erased my old drive, lmfaooooooo
