I've read your other replies to the virus problem. I downloaded the AVG software to correct it but for some unknown reason the "virus thread detected" message keeps appearing for certain viruses which affected my win32. I can't move it to the vault.
I currently have another virus protection program, the SBC Yahoo virus program which automatically installed when I install my DSL.
What else can I do because these pop up messages are driving me crazy.

First of all you need to turn off your system restore. Goto control panel, system and click on the system restore tab. Check the turn off system restore box. Reboot your computer in safe mode and run your antivirus and antispyware. Which AVG program are you using to scan your system?

Thanks guys...my computer is being scanned under safe mode right now. Don't know how long it's going to take so I'm using my laptop right now.
BTW, do you know any free program that would burn DVD-R. I've downloaded some movies for my kids but it's in Real Player format and I've tried to burn in the using the Real Player but I keep getting the will not fit message. I thought it was because of the size of the DVD-R I bought so I bought different kind which could record up to 2 hours even though it's still 4.7 G. I still get the same message even though the movie itself is only around 90 minutes.
I do have the factory Nero program but since the movie I downloaded is in ***.ifo, Nero cannot burn it for me. Besides, even with Nero, I don't think it would fit. I thought Nero would allow me to burn 1 movie into 2 separate DVD but I was wrong. May be the Nero version I have is cheap.
Any help is appreciated!!!

You need a DVD ripping program. Do a Goole search for DVD Shrink 3.2. That will rip the DVD's. You can burn them with Nero. In fact when Shrink finishes ripping the movies Nero should start actually open the drive for you, waiting on the blank disk.

I did further research I found out the reason why I cannot burn those the downloaded movie. It was created in smi file and no dvd program can burn it. Don't know it that's true but that's what I read when I googled it.

Well I'm a huge Samsung guy and that quality will set you back a bit. But if you don't have to have ths most razor sharp picture and don't have to have those blacks as black as night a Vizio will do you just fine. They have very good prices. Take a look at them in your local big box club. Sams or Cosco and do a comparison. There is not an earthshattering difference. Now mind you there is some but maybe not as much as you expect. And they are better than some of the lower brands such as GE and Magnavox.

Agreed 110% on Samsung. I have a 5 inch Samsung DLP that I couldn't be happier with (and a 62 inch Mitsubishi DLP that I HATE). I've heard that LG puts out a really nice DLP but personally haven't seen one in action yet.

Since you have the 50" DLP, is there any rainbow effect? I've been reading a lot about the supposedly rainbow effect and kinda of concern about it. I'm planning to get the 50" DLP for my living room also since LCD and plasma are quite expensive.
What do you think of your 50" so far?

I've had it for 2 years come November and I'm yet to experience a single problem. The picture is crystal clear. I've got PS3 hooked up to it, which is outputting at 1080p. My DLP is only 1080i, but I've got the PS3 and Direct TV coming in thru HDMI and I have nothing to complain about. I swear by Samsung DLP. Eventually you have to replace the light bulb in the back, but directions are in the manual and it takes 5 minutes to do. you''ll have to do that with any DLP. Sorry I'm just getting back to you now, forgot to check the General Discussion forum today.
