Looking to get a new laptop.....

I've never had a laptop, always had a desktop.  What kind should I get? Processor? RAM? Memory? etc   

I've heard great things about HP, and have been browsing their site. 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I bought a Dell 8 months ago. 3 GB, 15.4" screen, and wi-fi. Love it. But think about buying the extended warranty. I have heard too many horror stories from other people wishing they would have.

HP has a new 'small' laptop on the market. It doesn't have a DVD drive but you can buy an external USB one relatively cheap.

Still can get windoows XP
 
Ram
HD
Processor etc really depands on what you need it for.
