Question

CPU fan not coming on all the timeSome time I can feel the heat near the motherboard ( laptop ) and Computer will shut itself off, other times it comes on, other times I can tap on bottom of computer and get fan coming on.I assume loose connection....Is this something an idjit like me can fix or do I need to get a best buy geek to charge me 200 bucks to take bottom off computer and tighten up connection?

Go into ther bios.....F2 or Delete button most likely. Bang through the menus and see if there is an adjustment for the fan.

Also get the ol' can of air and spray at the back where the heatshink is. Make sure not to turn the can upside down.

I gave it a good cleaning when I had it, but maybe a good deal of dust where you are.

Give these two things a try first.

When the computer first boots up, look in the corners of the screen.  It will say what button gets you into the bios.  In Dells it&#x27;s usually at the bottom left.
