clearly you boys haven't checked out plasma's in a while. burn in issues? what year model plasmas are you guys looking at? check out the pio's, no better picture quality available. you can prob get last year's model 5090s for about $1600-1800.

Come on, I have a Pioneer 1st generation plasma made 1999 that's still running. Pio is on their 8th generation now.
If doing more of gaming then LCD is way to go but picture/movies wise, plasma is the bomb.
I'd look at these 2 plasma, both fit your budget criteria...
